What is scar constitution

People with a scar-prone constitution will easily develop scars that continue to grow larger after their skin is damaged and the wound heals, affecting their appearance. Sometimes they will also experience local pain, redness, swelling and itching. People with a scar-prone constitution will have obvious symptoms of hypertrophic keloids caused by surgery, burns, and trauma.

1. People with scar-prone constitution will experience continuous enlargement of surface scars after their skin is damaged after the wound heals, which not only affects the appearance but also causes local pain, redness and itching.

2. There is a difference between scar-prone constitution and keloid. People with scar-prone constitution can experience unlimited proliferation of keloid-like scars after any part of the body is injured, while keloid can appear in certain parts of the normal population, or due to the healing of scars caused by certain reasons. In other words, keloids are an inevitable manifestation of a scar-prone constitution, but people who develop keloids do not necessarily have a scar-prone constitution.

3. People with scar-prone constitution are prone to form hypertrophic scars or keloids with obvious symptoms after surgery, burns, or trauma. Currently in medicine, scar-prone constitution can only be diagnosed based on a person's symptoms, but there is no real way to test whether a person has a scar-prone constitution through any single test indicator. In fact, there are very few people who have a scar-prone physique. Diagnosis of scar-prone constitution requires judgment, and treatment must be carried out with extreme caution. Sometimes the loss after treatment outweighs the gain.

4. People with scar-prone constitution should pay attention. Young men and women in adolescence have vigorous sebaceous glands. Due to poor sebaceous gland excretion, some people often subconsciously squeeze them with their hands. Due to inaccurate squeezing methods, local skin is often damaged, and the skin's barrier protection function is reduced. In addition, the contents of the sebaceous glands are not completely emptied, and bacteria take advantage of the opportunity to enter, which may cause secondary sebaceous gland inflammation. Because many patients ignore the importance of treatment, the inflammation continues to worsen and even cause suppurative sebaceous gland inflammation, especially on the chest, mandible, and shoulders, which are most likely to cause scar hyperplasia and keloid formation. We should also pay attention to this aspect.
