What does the blood test for eugenics and good parenting check?

Eugenics and good parenting are relatively important. Generally speaking, many aspects of examinations are needed before pregnancy, including the most common blood test. Through the blood test, it can be found out whether the couple has any infectious diseases, or any problems that may affect the health of the fetus after pregnancy. If there are these problems, they should be treated promptly. Only after complete recovery can pregnancy be achieved to avoid problems such as fetal malformations.

The four items of eugenics testing include antibody tests for cytomegalovirus, toxoplasma, rubella virus, and herpes virus. Generally speaking, there are no drugs that will affect antibody testing, so it should not affect the test results.

Pre-pregnancy check-up items

1. Medical history

In addition to your existing medical conditions, you should also let your doctor know about any genetic problems that run in your family (such as Down syndrome or cystic fibrosis). You should also tell your doctor what birth control method you are using, whether you have any ovulation or menstrual problems, and whether you have a history of miscarriage.

2. Cervical cancer smear test

Think back to when you last had a cervical smear test. If you're planning on having a baby next year, you may need to do another one. Your doctor won't usually give you a smear test while you're pregnant or for the first 6 months of your baby's life.

3. Urine test

If you are at risk for a UTI, your doctor may order a urine test. Urinary tract infections have been linked to problems such as miscarriage, low birth weight, and premature birth.

4. Blood test

Blood tests are done to check if you have anemia or other abnormalities. Depending on your family medical history, your doctor may also want to test you for diseases such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. Thalassemia is more common in southern regions such as Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian than in the north.
