How to wash rust on clothes, use acetic acid solution

Detergent and soap can only work on some common stains. They are usually powerless against some more stubborn stains, such as rust. So how can you wash off rust if you accidentally get it on your clothes? In fact, there are many ways to help wash off rust on clothes, such as acetic acid solution, oxalic acid, vitamin C, etc.

Sprinkle 15% acetic acid solution (or 15% tartaric acid solution) on the stain, or soak the rusty part in the solution for about a day, and then rinse with clean water. You can also soak the rusty area with 10% citric acid solution, then soak it in concentrated salt water, rub it and rinse it clean the next day.

If there is rust on white cotton fabric, you can use a small spoon to scoop a handful of oxalic acid on the stain, then sprinkle some warm water, rub it gently, and then rinse it with clean water. Pay special attention to operating quickly to avoid oxalic acid corroding clothes. This method cannot be used multiple times.

Depending on the degree of rust stains on clothes, take out several vitamin C tablets, grind them into powder, and sprinkle them on the rusted areas of wet clothes. After they are fully soaked, rub them vigorously several times to remove the rust stains.

For rust stains on clothes, if there are not many, you can use clothing rust remover to remove them. Spray the remover evenly on the stained area, leave it on the clothes for 3-5 minutes, rub it repeatedly, and then rinse it with clean water several times until the stain is removed. Note that the amount of rust remover should be determined according to the amount of dirt. Too much or too little is not good.

If it is rust on the wheel hub, it can be cleaned off with paint iron powder remover. The specific method is to first wipe the wheel hub clean with a semi-wet and semi-dry cloth, then spray the rust remover, wait for 10-15 minutes, and then wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth. If the rust is severe, spray the rust remover again, wait for a while and then wipe it again.

The easiest way to wash off rust is to use several fresh lemons, squeeze out the lemon juice and sprinkle it on the rust stains. After the lemon juice soaks into the clothes, rub them with your hands. Repeat several times until the rust stains are removed. Then wash them with soapy water and finally rinse them with clean water.
