Heterochromia, two common causes

Heterochromia, two common causes

Heterochromia indicates that there is an abnormality in our body. It means that the pupil colors and characteristics of the two eyes are different. There are congenital and acquired causes. Congenital ones are mostly due to genetic factors, and the most common acquired one is trichoid iritis.

1. Causes

The occurrence of heterochromia iridum can be divided into two aspects: congenital and acquired.

In terms of congenital factors, it mainly involves the two eyes having different iris colors, which may be related to genetics. Since the color of the iris is affected by genetics, if one of the parents of an offspring has blue eyes and the other has gray eyes, the offspring may have a pair of blue eyes or a pair of gray eyes, but it is also possible that one eye's iris is blue and the other is gray. This may be related to Waardenburg Syndrome or Piebald Syndrome.

Acquired conditions may be caused by Horner Syndrome or iridophoria, which causes damage to the iris and causes it to atrophy.

It may also be caused by a lack of iris pigment or be related to genes.

2. Heterochromia

It is reported that heterochromia iridum is an abnormal physical condition in which the irises of the two eyes are different colors. Eye color, especially iris color, is determined by the pigmentation and distribution of iris tissue. Therefore, any factors that affect the above pigment distribution during the formation process will cause different eye colors.

People or animals with this condition may have one of the following situations: 1. The irises of his two eyes are different colors. 2. His eyes will have more than one color in the same iris.
