There are five main symptoms of hidradenitis

Hidradenitis generally occurs in the subcutaneous tissue, and recurs and spreads rapidly, becoming more and more serious, and eventually becoming suppurative hidradenitis. There are many causes of this disease, including hormone imbalance in the body or embryonic maldevelopment. People need to understand the symptoms of hidradenitis so that they can detect it as early as possible.

Multiple nodules recur in the area of apocrine sweat glands of the skin for a long time, lasting at least 3 months. They may not necessarily discharge pus or have a sense of fluctuation, but they gradually spread widely, forming many superficial subcutaneous fistulas, sinus tracts and small abscesses. There is often no obvious connection between the fistulas and the anal canal, and there are no lesions in the anal canal and rectum, and no internal opening of the anal fistula, but there is a tendency for cord-like fusion. The presence of blackheads behind the ears in the non-apocrine sweat gland area is a sign of early diagnosis of this disease, and the condition often worsens before menstruation. This disease is very easy to misdiagnose and needs to be differentiated from the following diseases:

A furuncle: There is obvious follicular infiltration, which is cone-shaped. After rupture, there is a pus plug on the top. The course of the disease is short and there is no specific predilection site.

Secondary lymphadenitis: The nodules are large and firm, with deeper inflammatory infiltration and nearby infected lesions.

Three complex anal fistulas: The tract is deep, with granulation tissue inside, often with an internal opening, and often with a history of anorectal abscess.

IV. Suboccipital sinus: It is almost always located posterior to the perineal suture, and in many cases, hair can be seen in the purulent discharge.

5. Teratoma: The fistula is very deep and often leads to an obvious abscess cavity.

Symptoms of hidradenitis suppurativa usually appear after puberty, often in healthy young and middle-aged people with excessive oily skin and acne. Initially, it presents as single or multiple inflammatory cord-like nodules, pustules or furuncles of varying sizes, subcutaneously or intracutaneously, in the sacroperineum and scrotal areas, consistent with the sweat gland follicles. Later, suppuration will occur and ulcers will form, fistulas will be formed, redness and swelling will be obvious, and pain will be felt. After ulceration, a foul-smelling, paste-like, purulent secretion will be discharged. However, the lesion is only located under the skin and does not penetrate deep into the internal sphincter. As the first sinus tract is formed, many sinus tracts are formed successively and merge into pieces. Extensive necrosis occurs under the skin and the skin ulcers, which may extend to the area around the anus, scrotum, labia, sacrum, buttocks, waist and thighs. After healing, it often leads to sclerosis and scar formation. Common symptoms include fever, general malaise, painful and swollen lymph nodes, and pilonidal fistulas around the anus. In the late stage, symptoms such as weight loss, anemia, or endocrine and fat metabolism disorders may occur.
