Children brush their teeth correctly, parents provide guidance

The baby should brush his teeth on time after all the deciduous teeth have erupted. Only correct brushing can better prevent the occurrence of tooth decay. Parents should give the baby correct demonstration. In addition, parents should also pay attention to the choice of toothpaste for the baby. Improper choice may also damage the baby's teeth.

1. Guide your baby to brush his teeth correctly: brush up and down for three minutes

When training your baby to brush his teeth, mothers should pay attention to letting the baby master the correct brushing method from the beginning and avoid excessive horizontal brushing. The wrong brushing method not only fails to clean the teeth, but also easily makes the teeth brittle. In the future, when the baby uses a slightly harder toothbrush to brush his teeth, his gums will hurt.

The correct order of brushing your teeth is: brush vertically from top to bottom and from bottom to top along the gaps between teeth. Brush along the roots of the teeth towards the tips of the teeth, both up and down, inside and outside. The occlusal surface can be brushed horizontally. Each brushing takes at least 3 minutes, and each surface should be brushed 15 to 20 times to achieve the purpose of cleaning teeth.

2. Be careful when choosing fluoride toothpaste

Fluoride toothpaste is currently the most effective toothpaste for preventing and treating tooth decay. But if used improperly, the baby will easily suffer from fluorosis. There is a very thin line between fluoride's anti-caries effect and its toxicity. In addition, babies' swallowing control ability is still imperfect, so they can easily swallow fluoride toothpaste by mistake, leading to excessive fluoride intake, causing spots on the teeth. In severe cases, the teeth may turn yellow, become rough on the surface, and become easily damaged. Therefore, babies under 3 years old are prohibited from using fluoride toothpaste; babies aged 4-6 should use it under the guidance of adults. Your baby should rinse out the toothpaste after brushing his teeth. At the same time, the amount of toothpaste that the baby uses each time is about the size of a soybean, and no more than 1 cm at most.
