Can dry socket be cured? The treatment method is very important

Dry socket is a bacterial infection that occurs after tooth extraction. The best way to prevent dry socket is to reduce the traumatic surface during the tooth extraction process. Dry socket can be treated with both Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. The principle of Western medicine treatment is to completely eliminate external stimulation to the tooth socket.

1. Western medicine treatment of dry socket

Dry socket is related to infection after oral surgery. Once dry socket occurs, the principle of treatment is to thoroughly clean the wound and isolate external stimulation to the tooth socket to promote the growth of granulation tissue. The treatment method is to repeatedly rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide and saline under block anesthesia, and place iodine gauze in the alveolar socket. To prevent the iodoform gauze from falling off, the gums can also be sutured with a stitch. It will heal in 1 to 2 weeks, and the iodine gauze can be removed after 8 to 10 days. At this time, the bone wall of the alveolar socket is covered with a layer of granulation tissue and can gradually heal.

2. Treatment of dry socket with traditional Chinese medicine

【Syndrome Differentiation and Classification】Divided into three types.
