The main medicinal use is its root tubers, and the leaves, flowers and buds of Aconitum carmichaelii are also used. Symptoms of Aconitum poisoning

Symptoms of Aconitum kusnezoffii poisoning usually appear between 0.5 and 2 hours after taking the medicine. The main manifestations of poisoning are neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity and gastrointestinal toxicity, which often cause various abnormal electrocardiogram changes. Among them, damage to the heart is the most important and most common risk factor for aconitine poisoning.

Symptoms of poisoning include numbness of the whole body, thirst, intense burning sensation in the stomach, gradual paralysis, cramps in the face and limbs, difficulty speaking, decreased vision and hearing, confusion, arrhythmia, rapid breathing, decreased blood pressure, and finally death from arrhythmia and respiratory depression.

Prevention of Aconitum poisoning

According to the current Chinese Pharmacopoeia

First, each person should not consume more than 1.5 grams to 3 grams at a time.

Second, patients with a history of heart disease should be cautious when consuming Aconitum kusnezoffii.

Third, when eating Aconitum kusnezoffii, avoid sour, cold, and sweet foods, and especially avoid bean products. Do not drink cold water after eating and do not face the wind.

Fourth, after eating Aconitum kusnezoffii, if you experience symptoms such as numbness of the mouth and tongue, paralysis of the whole body, swelling, palpitations, vomiting, cramps in the hands and feet, and heart rate disorders, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
