Can blood deficiency cause insomnia? What causes blood deficiency?

Insomnia is a common condition in daily life. Not being able to sleep at night is very harmful to the human body. Therefore, many people go to see a Chinese medicine doctor for treatment, but most of the time the Chinese medicine doctor will tell them that they have blood deficiency. So will blood deficiency cause insomnia? This problem has been bothering people. In fact, blood deficiency is an important factor leading to insomnia. In addition, blood deficiency can also cause palpitations, dizziness and other conditions.

1. Why does blood deficiency lead to insomnia?

The most obvious symptoms of blood deficiency are yellow or pale complexion, dizziness and fatigue, palpitations and shortness of breath, panting after a little exercise, and listlessness. What is more noteworthy is that blood deficiency can also easily cause insomnia. Blood deficiency can also cause other complications such as myocardial ischemia, palpitations, angina pectoris, and decreased function of other organs.

Blood deficiency occurs more frequently in women. It is very dangerous for women with anemia, because women will lose too much blood during menstruation. If they do not pay attention to blood replenishment, it will cause insomnia and other physical discomfort symptoms. If people with blood deficiency do not get enough rest, this will only aggravate their insomnia and blood deficiency. The cause of blood deficiency may be excessive blood loss, spleen and stomach dysfunction, long-term illness and depletion of yin and blood. The main symptoms of blood deficiency are insomnia, palpitations, dizziness, etc. Therefore, blood deficiency often leads to insomnia.

2. Causes of blood deficiency

1. Excessive blood loss

There are many factors that cause blood loss in daily life, such as traumatic bleeding, menstrual bleeding and so on. If you know that you have lost too much blood but do not eat food to replenish the blood, the body will lack Qi and blood, which will lead to internal blood stasis and blocked blood vessels. If the blood vessels are blocked, it will affect the body's re-bleeding or the production of new blood, thereby aggravating the degree of qi deficiency and affecting our sleep.

2. Intemperate eating

In our daily lives, we cannot say that everyone overeats, but most people are picky eaters.

Another thing is that we are busy with work nowadays and we don’t pursue balanced nutrition when eating every day, but just want to fill our stomachs. Over time it will damage the spleen and stomach. The consequence of damage to the spleen and stomach is that they cannot transform the essence of water and grain. If the source of Qi and blood is insufficient, it will lead to blood deficiency.

3. Chronic consumption

What is chronic wasting? As the name suggests, chronic wasting does not cause blood deficiency in one go, but is accumulated over a long period of time. For example, overworking for a long time without resting or replenishing the body. Another example is when you have just recovered from a serious illness and are suffering from deficiency of Qi and blood. This is what I call chronic consumption.
