What to do if monocyte count is high, treatment method

The source of monocytes is hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow, and the main function of monocytes is to phagocytize foreign matter and produce antibodies. Monocytes also have a reference value. Of course, many people are concerned about what to do if the monocyte count is too high, because this is related to the disease.

1. Diagnosis

Monocytes are the largest white blood cells. Monocytes can phagocytize foreign matter and produce antibodies. They play an important role in healing body injuries, resisting the invasion of pathogens and immunity to diseases. No disease can be diagnosed based on high monocyte counts. The diagnosis must be based on clinical symptoms, signs, other tests and auxiliary examinations. If other items in the blood routine test are normal except for the high monocyte count, it does not mean anything and there is no need to worry too much. Check again in 2 weeks.

2. Inspection

Monocytes are the largest white blood cells. They can phagocytize foreign matter and produce antibodies, playing an important role in healing body injuries, resisting the invasion of pathogens and immunity to diseases. Inflammation or other diseases in the body can cause changes in the percentage of total monocytes, so checking the monocyte count has become an important method for auxiliary diagnosis.

3. Infectious Monocytic Cell Treatment

Infectious mononucleosis is caused by Epstein-Barr (EB) virus infection, and is a syndrome characterized by fatigue, headache, fever, pharyngitis, lymphadenopathy, atypical lymphocytosis, heterophilic antibodies and mild transient hepatitis. The treatment of this disease is symptomatic, and most of the diseases can heal themselves. Bed rest should be taken during the acute phase. Antibiotics can be used for secondary bacterial infection of the pharynx and tonsils. For patients with severe lesions or edema of the pharynx and larynx, adrenocortical hormones can be used to quickly subside the inflammation. Patients with splenomegaly should limit their activities and be alert to the possibility of splenic rupture at any time. Once suspected, timely diagnosis should be made, blood volume should be replenished quickly, blood transfusion and splenectomy should be performed, which can often save the patient.
