Foods That Cleanse the Liver

Foods That Cleanse the Liver

The human liver weighs only a little over two kilograms, but this two-kilogram liver works for us every day and night. All the toxins we eat are metabolized by the liver, so people must clean the liver regularly. If you don't pay attention to cleaning, it is very likely to cause liver damage and invasion throughout your life, causing many unnecessary troubles and complications.

1. Garlic. Garlic is an effective liver cleanser. It is rich in enzyme chemicals that help clean out toxins in the liver. Two natural compounds contained in garlic: selenium and allicin, can also effectively remove toxins from the liver.

High levels of triglycerides and cholesterol can hinder the liver's work, and garlic can help lower both. But processed garlic (cooked) doesn't provide any help to the liver, nor does powdered or chopped garlic. For liver health, eat garlic raw.

2. Beets. Not only do beets cleanse your liver, they also help it work better. It is rich in beta-carotene and flavonoids, which can improve the efficiency of the liver. Another benefit of beets is that they can purify the blood. You can add beets to salads or drink them as juice.

3. Grapefruit. Grapefruit is rich in antioxidants, pectinase and vitamin C, making it one of the most powerful foods for cleansing the liver. The antioxidant glutathione contained in grapefruit can effectively neutralize free radicals and help detoxify the liver. The naringenin contained in grapefruit can break down fat - the reduction of fat can reduce the workload of the liver. Grapefruit can be eaten raw or juiced, but don't eat it in cans.

4. Lemon. Lemons are rich in d-limonene, which can promote the secretion of enzymes to help the liver detoxify; it is rich in vitamin C, which can help the liver secrete enzymes to aid digestion; finally, lemons can help the liver absorb minerals. You can add a small amount of lemon juice to your salad or drink it. Add a spoonful of honey to lemon juice and drink it together to achieve double the effect.

5. Avocado. Avocados are rich in many chemicals that can help reduce damage to the liver: they are rich in glutathione, which is needed for liver detoxification and work; cholesterol is divided into good and bad, the liver can easily process the good but finds it difficult to process the bad, and avocados contain a lot of monounsaturated fats that can help increase good cholesterol and reduce the bad. In addition, avocados provide phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals that help the liver work.

6. Green tea. Green tea helps increase hydration levels and helps the body remove fat deposits and toxins. The catechins in green tea help break down lipids -- thus minimizing fat deposits in the liver. Green tea can also reduce the damage to the liver caused by alcohol and toxins. Green tea is also said to reduce the risk of liver disease and liver cancer.

7. Apple. Apples can effectively remove toxins from the intestines, ensure that the cholesterol in the blood remains within the normal range to reduce the burden on the liver, and promote liver health. Apples are rich in pectinase (a type of soluble fiber) which can help remove toxins and lower cholesterol. In addition to pectinase, apples are also rich in malic acid, which can effectively remove carcinogens from the blood.

8. Turmeric. Turmeric not only cleanses the liver, but also promotes the body's absorption of fat. The curcumin contained in turmeric is the key to helping the secretion of liver detoxification enzymes. You can use turmeric as a spice in your meals; you can also add a quarter tablespoon of turmeric powder to a glass of water twice a day for two weeks to cleanse your liver.

9. Broccoli. The reason broccoli is so effective in helping the body eliminate toxins and harmful chemicals is because it contains glucosinolates. In addition, broccoli provides a lot of fiber and fat-soluble vitamin E. Fiber can help the human body digestion, and fat-soluble vitamin E helps the liver work. Eat broccoli at least three times a week.
