How to excrete gallstones? Extracorporeal lithotripsy is very common

Women are more prone to gallstones. People nowadays don’t like to eat breakfast, which is also the most common cause of gallstones. If you don’t want to remove the gallbladder to treat gallstones, you can perform extracorporeal lithotripsy, but the effect of this method is not very good. After all, gallstones are different from kidney stones.

1. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can be used for gallstones

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotrity (ESWL) uses liquid electricity, piezoelectricity or magnetoelectricity to generate shock waves to break up stones. Its efficacy depends on the nature, size, number, degree of calcification of the stones, the energy of the shock wave, the number of lithotripsy, gallbladder function and other factors. Gallstones can be discharged on their own after being broken up. At the same time, oral litholytic drugs (CDCA, UDCA) and ERCP basket stone removal, papillary muscle incision or placement of biliary stents have better effects. After ESWL treatment, about 1/3 of patients develop biliary colic, and 8% to 14% of patients develop purpura or petechiae on the local skin. Other rare complications include biliary obstruction, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, hematuria, intrahepatic hematoma, etc.

2. Indications for ESWL are:

①Symptomatic gallstones.

②Oral cholecystography showed that gallbladder function was normal.

③Negative gallbladder stones.

④ A single stone with a diameter of 5 to 25 mm and 2 to 5 stones with a diameter of 5 to 15 mm.

(2) Contraindications:

① Patients whose gallbladder does not show up in oral cholecystography or is too high or has deformity factors that make it difficult to locate the stones.

②Positive gallbladder stones.

③Acute inflammation stage of gallbladder.

④ Disorders of coagulation mechanism.

⑤ Patients with severe heart, liver, lung, kidney diseases and stomach and duodenal ulcers.

⑥B-ultrasound shows gallbladder atrophy or gallbladder wall thickening of more than 5mm.

⑦Pregnant women.
