Is the test result of 3 plus signs of proteinuria serious?

If three plus signs are found in proteinuria during the examination, it means that the situation is relatively serious and that there is inflammation in the kidneys. Therefore, of course, you need to pay attention to a more comprehensive examination. After the inflammation is confirmed, scientific and systematic treatment can be carried out.

1. Serious. This first indicates that your kidneys are inflamed, which is a major problem that must be paid attention to. If you discover it, you should go to the hospital in time for necessary examinations, diagnosis and treatment.

2. Normal people excrete very little protein in their urine every day, generally not exceeding 40-80 mg. It cannot be detected by conventional examination methods, so the qualitative test for proteinuria is "negative". So what about proteinuria 3+? If the protein content in urine increases, daily protein excretion exceeds 150 mg or the protein content in every 100 ml of urine reaches 10-20 mg, the routine urine test will show "positive" for proteinuria. This is called "proteinuria" in medicine, usually represented by the number "10". The more "10s" there are, the more protein there is in the urine.

3. What is the reason for proteinuria 3+ in urine routine test? Most of the time, it is caused by kidney disease, such as various glomerular diseases, renal vascular diseases, diabetic nephropathy, tubular diseases, kidney damage caused by antibiotics, etc. In addition, "functional proteinuria" and "orthostatic proteinuria" are not necessarily caused by kidney disease.

4. Healthy people develop temporary mild benign proteinuria. It usually occurs after exercise or during fever, and can also be seen in high-temperature work, extreme cold, mental stress, high sympathetic nerve excitement, or the use of some sensitive foods. As soon as these factors are eliminated, urine protein will become positive.

5. Proteinuria occurs in an upright position or with lumbar protrusion. Its characteristics are: the protein test is negative before getting up in the morning, and gradually decreases to proteinuria after getting up and moving around. Urine microscopy may be completely normal, with occasional slight increase in cellular components. This type of upright proteinuria is more common in adolescents (about 3-5% of all adolescents), but it often disappears on its own with age.

6. It is worth noting that when suffering from kidney disease, proteinuria may also increase due to upright position. Therefore, some orthostatic proteinuria may be caused by mild kidney disease. For adolescents with orthostatic proteinuria, urine routine tests should be performed regularly. If proteinuria + or 3+ is found, the cause should be identified as soon as possible.

7. During the treatment, you must be sure to distinguish whether it is an occasional allergic reaction (sometimes caused by eating seafood or protein products). If the doctor simply uses hormone treatment, it can temporarily eliminate the inflammation in your kidneys, but the catastrophic consequences caused by hormones may be something you will never forget.
