What are the causes of insufficient blood supply to the brain?

Cerebral ischemia is a common disease in life and poses a great threat to the health of patients. Ischemic blood supply to the brain is generally a complication caused by other diseases. For example, diseases such as blood thickening and blood clots may cause ischemic blood supply to the brain.

The main causes are:

(1) The main reason is: because of the dislocation of the cervical atlantoaxial joint and the C5-C6 joint, the vertebral artery is stimulated to cause stenosis of the arterial lumen or vascular spasm, the blood flow through the artery is reduced, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the brain area;

(2) Hemodynamic disorder: when blood pressure drops and cardiac output decreases, the brain tissue is not supplied with enough blood;

(3) Increased blood viscosity, slow blood flow and changes in blood components caused by certain reasons may also cause insufficient blood supply;

(4) Microthrombosis: Microthrombosis is the detachment of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries, forming microemboli in the blood flow. These microemboli flow to the small arteries and block the blood vessels, resulting in localized cerebral blood supply insufficiency.
