Physical examination: three tests of gastric function

Physical examination: three tests of gastric function

Many units conduct physical examinations for their employees once a year, and these physical examinations are generally paid for by the public, which is also a guarantee for the health of the patients. Generally, the stomach of the patient needs to be checked during the physical examination, because only when the stomach is healthy can the food we eat be fully absorbed and ensure the body's energy. So what are the three stomach function tests included in the physical examination?

What are the three gastric function tests and what should I do if my gastric function is poor? I believe that friends who have had abnormal gastric function know that there are three common items to check when examining the stomach. Let’s learn about them together below.

Gastric fluid analysis

Gastric juice analysis is the oldest and most commonly used method for diagnosing stomach diseases. It refers to the extraction of gastric juice for the measurement and examination of relevant indicators (such as gastric acid) to determine whether the gastric juice is normal. It mainly includes three items, namely general properties inspection, chemical inspection and microscopic inspection. Gastric juice analysis can not only reflect whether a person's gastric acid secretion is normal, but also has certain significance for the diagnosis of gastric ulcer, duodenal bulb ulcer, and even gastric cancer.

X-ray barium meal examination

X-ray barium meal examination, also known as X-ray barium meal angiography, means that the patient takes barium sulfate filling agent orally, which can clearly show the outline of the stomach during X-ray fluoroscopy. X-ray barium meal examination can diagnose a variety of diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastric perforation, gastric bleeding and pyloric obstruction. In addition, in the past decade or so, there has been great progress in double contrast imaging of the gastrointestinal tract with barium meals.

Gastroscopy

Fiber gastroscopy is currently the most valuable and most commonly used method for gastric diseases. It has the characteristics of wide field of view, safe examination, intuitive images, accurate and timely diagnosis, reliable information and convenient treatment. It can be used to diagnose gastric ulcer, gastritis and diseases of the duodenum and esophagus.

Three gastric function tests

Poor gastric function will affect both life and work. So, what to do if your stomach function is poor?

1. Avoid eating too much protein, fat, and meat for breakfast, as these acidic foods can easily lead to poor spirits during the day.

2. It is not advisable to drink coffee in the morning as it can easily lead to bone loss and osteoporosis. You can drink it at 2-3 pm. Adults should not drink more than 2 cups a week, or only drink black coffee without sugar or creamer, which is less likely to affect bone loss.

3. Adults should not eat more than 3 eggs a week. Excessive protein intake may lead to high cholesterol. People who are prone to bloating or have rapid gastrointestinal motility should not consume scrambled eggs with onions or tea eggs. The hormones and antibiotics contained in the eggs may easily remain in the body and cause drug resistance.

4. Eat less three whites - white rice, white flour, and white sugar (they have been refined and have no nutritional value, and cause a burden on the liver and kidneys for digestion).

5. Fruit is gold if eaten for breakfast, silver if eaten at noon, and garbage if eaten at night. Especially melons: watermelon and cantaloupe should be eaten between meals (it is best not to eat watermelon before or after meals), and not eaten after 5 pm.
