What are the prevention and treatment methods for forest encephalitis

Forest encephalitis is an acute infectious disease of the central nervous system caused by infection with the deep forest encephalitis virus. Patients often show symptoms such as high fever and impaired consciousness, and the mortality rate is extremely high. Therefore, how to prevent the occurrence of forest encephalitis and how to treat forest encephalitis have become hot topics that people pay close attention to. Let’s take a closer look at the prevention and treatment of forest encephalitis!

Forest encephalitis, also known as tick-borne encephalitis, is an acute infectious disease of the central nervous system caused by forest encephalitis virus. The cause of the disease is tick-borne enccphalitis virus (TBEV), a small neurotropic virus that mainly attacks the central nervous system. The main clinical manifestations are high fever, impaired consciousness, flaccid paralysis, meningeal irritation signs, etc. It has many sequelae and a high mortality rate. It is only seen in forest areas and is a natural epidemic disease.

prevention:

1. Strengthen tick prevention and tick killing.

2. When working in forest areas, wear tight protective clothing and high boots, and an insect-proof cover on the head; clothes and hats can be soaked in dimethyl phthalate, 200g per set, valid for 10 days.

3. Vaccination: The vaccine should be injected before March every year, 2 ml for the first time, 3 ml for the second time, with an interval of 7 to 10 days, and a booster shot every year thereafter.

treat:

1. General treatment and symptomatic treatment care, cooling, anticonvulsant and respiratory failure treatment can refer to the treatment of Japanese encephalitis.

2. Immunotherapy

1. Serum therapy: Within 3 days of onset, patients can use 20-40 ml of serum from recovering patients or people who have lived in forest areas for many years to be injected intramuscularly, or 5-10 ml to be injected intrathecally.

2. High-titer immunoglobulin is injected intramuscularly 6 to 9 ml daily and discontinued when the body temperature drops below 38°C.

3. Interferon, transfer factor, immune RNA, and ribonuclease can all be used as appropriate.

The above is an introduction on how to prevent and treat forest encephalitis. I believe that through the above introduction, you have a better understanding of forest encephalitis. In addition, it should be reminded that since forest encephalitis is an infectious disease, we must pay more attention to it in our daily life. I hope the above content can be helpful to you.
