Forest encephalitis, also known as tick-borne encephalitis, is an acute infectious disease of the central nervous system caused by forest encephalitis virus. The cause of the disease is tick-borne enccphalitis virus (TBEV), a small neurotropic virus that mainly attacks the central nervous system. The main clinical manifestations are high fever, impaired consciousness, flaccid paralysis, meningeal irritation signs, etc. It has many sequelae and a high mortality rate. It is only seen in forest areas and is a natural epidemic disease.

prevention:

1. Strengthen tick prevention and tick killing.

2. When working in forest areas, wear tight protective clothing and high boots, and an insect-proof cover on the head; clothes and hats can be soaked in dimethyl phthalate, 200g per set, valid for 10 days.

3. Vaccination: The vaccine should be injected before March every year, 2 ml for the first time, 3 ml for the second time, with an interval of 7 to 10 days, and a booster shot every year thereafter.

treat:

1. General treatment and symptomatic treatment care, cooling, anticonvulsant and respiratory failure treatment can refer to the treatment of Japanese encephalitis.

2. Immunotherapy

1. Serum therapy: Within 3 days of onset, patients can use 20-40 ml of serum from recovering patients or people who have lived in forest areas for many years to be injected intramuscularly, or 5-10 ml to be injected intrathecally.

2. High-titer immunoglobulin is injected intramuscularly 6 to 9 ml daily and discontinued when the body temperature drops below 38°C.

3. Interferon, transfer factor, immune RNA, and ribonuclease can all be used as appropriate.
