How to use thread-embedded acupuncture

1. Needle-embedded suture method: routinely disinfect the local skin, use tweezers to pick up a 1-2 cm long sterilized catgut, place it at the front end of the lumbar puncture needle, then connect the needle core, tighten or lift the skin at the insertion site with the thumb and index finger of the left hand, hold the needle with the right hand, and insert it to the required depth. When the needle sensation appears, push the needle core while withdrawing the needle tube, bury the catgut in the subcutaneous tissue or muscle layer of the acupuncture point, and cover the needle hole with sterilized gauze. You can also use the tip of a No. 9 injection needle as a cannula, cut off the tip of a No. 28 2-inch long filiform needle as the core needle, insert 1 to 1.5 cm of No. 00 catgut into the needle tip and bury it in the acupuncture point, following the same procedure as before. When using a special thread embedding needle, after local skin disinfection, use 0.5-1% procaine hydrochloride for infiltration anesthesia, cut a piece of catgut (about 1 cm long), put it on the notch of the thread embedding needle, clamp both ends with vascular clamps, hold the needle with the right hand and the clamp with the left hand, insert the needle tip at a 15°-40° angle downward from the notch, wait until the needle is completely buried under the skin, then insert the needle 0.5 cm, then withdraw the needle, press the needle hole with a cotton ball or gauze for a while, and then cover the wound with gauze to protect it.
