What are the correction methods for invisible overbite

Overbite is a relatively common dental manifestation, mainly manifesting as dental and maxillofacial deformities. There are many ways to correct overbite and tooth deformity, the most common of which are surgical orthodontics and orthodontics. For example, functional braces, traditional bracket orthodontics, invisible orthodontics, and surgical orthodontics are all common treatment methods for overbite and invisible tooth deformities.

1. Functional orthodontic appliances

Functional orthodontic appliances are generally used as a correction method during the tooth eruption and tooth replacement stages of children. They do not generate mechanical force in the child's mouth themselves, but instead promote maxillofacial growth and development by changing facial muscle function and guiding bone growth, using dental membrane receptors for biological regulation and mobilizing growth potential, thereby re-establishing the dynamic balance between the functional morphologies of the teeth and maxillofacial area, and achieving the goal of curing the underbite that is in the process of forming.

2. Traditional bracket orthodontics

Traditional orthodontic treatment is to adjust the coordination between the facial bones, teeth, maxillofacial nerves and muscles by installing brackets on the teeth and using archwires to apply appropriate "bioforce" to the teeth, alveolar bones and jaws, correct the abnormal relationship between the upper and lower jaws, between the upper and lower teeth, between the teeth and jaws, and the nerves and muscles connecting them, and correct the overbite while producing physiological movement.

3. Invisible correction

Bracketless invisible orthodontics uses 3D scanning technology to enter the patient's dental 3D model data into a computer, reconstruct the model in three dimensions, and simulate the movement and steps of the entire tooth correction process on the computer to perform a visualized three-dimensional correction of malocclusion. The process is divided into stages to design different transparent invisible braces. Because there are no wires and other devices used in traditional bracket treatment, the comfort is greatly improved.

4. Surgical orthodontics

Surgical orthodontics is a type of correction that can only be used for bony overbite. It is mainly performed through surgery, with local anesthesia and minimally invasive opening of the alveolar bone to readjust the position of the teeth. The operation takes about an hour and is sufficient to correct bony overbite. Because the operation time and postoperative recovery time are relatively short, it is more suitable for office workers. It will not affect work.
