What are the steps to straighten hair?

Hair straightening is a service available in every hair salon because it is relatively simple to operate and does not require many instruments. Today I will tell you the steps to straighten your hair. If you want to straighten your hair yourself, you can come and learn.

1. Hair straightener. You can buy a variety of hair straighteners at any beauty or hair store. You can even try other products available at the salon (or other suppliers). But what you really need to choose is whether the hair straightener contains alkaline liquid.

Alkaline-free products are the most common household products. The downside to this product is that it can dull your hair and cause damage (just like regular, everyday straightening).

Make sure you know what you are doing! Once you use a detangler to straighten your hair, the curls will no longer be there. If you want curly hair “once in a while”, this isn’t the thing for you!

2. Wear protective gear. If you wish to protect your skin, clothing, and hands during the procedure, put on an old T-shirt, disposable gloves (provided with the kit), and drape an old towel over your shoulders.

3. Prepare the product. Usually detanglers come with a few different creams or ointments. Mix according to the instructions. Use a wooden spatula to stir if present.

Allow the prepared product to sit for a few minutes before use. This will help the various materials blend fully.

4. Apply Vaseline to your neck, hairline, and ears. If you want to protect your skin from chemicals, a thin layer will suffice.

Be sure not to spill the hair conditioner on other areas. It's not good for your skin and should never be eaten or put in your eyes!

5. Take a test. Don't put chemicals all over your hair without testing it! What if something goes wrong? So test a lock of hair at the base of your neck first.

Apply detangler to that section of hair (except for any that have been applied previously). Let sit for the time specified in the instructions or until you see results. Rinse out the detangler and blow dry. Can you notice any damage? If all is well, keep using it. If you have any problems, never use this product again.

6. Adjust the timer. It is very important that the detangler stays on your hair for only the right amount of time. The time written on the package should be the maximum time the detangler can stay on your hair. Any further extension could cause serious harm.

7. Apply hair straightener. Once you are done experimenting, you can start applying the detangler to all of your hair. Apply in small portions, from roots to ends, and try to apply evenly. Do not apply to the scalp!

Use on hair that has not been treated with a detangler before. If you're just touching up the roots of your hair, apply only to the roots.

8. After applying, comb your hair. If you have a wide-toothed plastic comb, comb through your hair to even out the detangler. This will help each strand of hair get exposure to the detangler on all sides, from roots to ends. Always keep an eye on the timer!

9. Rinse, shampoo, and rinse again. When the time is up, rinse your hair thoroughly to remove all the detangler. Some detanglers are colored so you can see where any residue is left. Then wash your hair using the shampoo included in the kit and rinse.

Take a close look after washing. Did you rinse everything? If not, there may still be some left, which can cause harm - so rinse thoroughly!

10. Use conditioner. Many products come with conditioner included. [This helps smooth hair and prevent damage. Make sure to get the conditioner into every strand of hair! Then towel dry.
