What should I do if I have mild fatty liver?

In addition to paying attention to treatment, patients with mild fatty liver cannot ignore the adjustments in their lives. They need to control their calorie and sugar intake. They also need to drink an appropriate amount of water to help promote the body's metabolism and help excrete waste.

1. Control calorie intake to oxidize and consume fat in liver cells. Obese people should lose weight gradually until their weight falls within the standard weight range. Calculated based on standard body weight, each kilogram of body weight can provide 84 to 105 kilojoules (20 to 25 kilocalories) of heat energy. Standard weight (kg) = height (cm) - 105 (or 100). Men over 165 cm will subtract 105, while women and men under 165 cm will subtract 100.

2. Limit the intake of fat and carbohydrates. According to standard body weight, 0.5 to 0.8 grams of fat can be given per kilogram of body weight per day. It is advisable to use vegetable oils or foods containing long-chain unsaturated fatty acids, such as fish; 2 to 4 grams of carbohydrates can be given per kilogram of body weight per day, and the intake of edible sugar should not be too much.

3. High-protein diet: 1.2 to 1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight per day. High protein can protect liver cells and promote the repair and regeneration of liver cells. Regarding protein supply, high-quality protein should account for an appropriate proportion, such as tofu, yuba and other soy products, lean meat, fish, shrimp, skim milk, etc.

4. Ensure the supply of fresh vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables, to meet the body's needs for vitamins. However, you should not eat too much vegetables and fruits that are high in sugar.

5. Drink water in moderation to promote the body's metabolism and excretion of metabolic waste.

6. Foods rich in methionine, such as millet, oatmeal, sesame, rapeseed, spinach, cauliflower, beet, dried shrimp, scallops, mussels, etc., can promote the synthesis of phospholipids in the body and assist in the transformation of fat in liver cells.
