What is the survival rate of aplastic anemia

What is the survival rate of aplastic anemia

Aplastic anemia poses a great threat to the body and has a relatively high mortality rate, especially in acute aplastic anemia and leukemia, with a mortality rate as high as 95%. Therefore, patients must pay attention to examinations and scientific care to prevent infection.

1. Aplastic anemia (AA): a group of comprehensive symptoms caused by bone marrow hematopoietic failure due to various reasons. The common symptoms are anemia, bleeding, infection, fever (high or low fever), fatigue in walking, dizziness, etc. Among blood diseases (including hemolytic anemia, iron deficiency anemia, myelofibrosis, myeloid leukemia, thalassemia, lymphoid leukemia...), the mortality rate of aplastic anemia and leukemia accounts for 80%, and the mortality rate of acute aplastic anemia and leukemia accounts for 95%. Therefore, aplastic anemia is known as "soft cancer" and leukemia is known as "blood cancer".

2. Prevent infection

In daily life, you should pay attention to adding or removing clothes to avoid catching cold. Take good care of personal hygiene, keep your skin clean, take a bath, change clothes and cut your nails frequently. Ventilate the room regularly, avoid going to public places, and wear a mask when going out. Pay attention to oral hygiene and rinse your mouth after meals and before going to bed. Pay attention to perianal cleanliness, and take a sitz bath after defecation (you can use 1:1000 potassium permanganate solution for sitz bath). Female patients should pay attention to perineal cleanliness. If you experience sore throat, cough, runny nose, painful urination, swollen and painful gums, redness and swelling, etc., you should go to the hospital for treatment in time for early external treatment.

3. Prevent bleeding

Exercise appropriately according to your condition, and avoid slipping or injuries during activities to avoid bleeding after injury. It is forbidden to brush your teeth with a hard-bristled toothbrush or pick your teeth with a toothpick. Eat slowly to avoid damaging the oral mucosa and gums. To prevent the nasal mucosa from drying out, apply oil for protection when necessary. Do not pick your nose to avoid damaging the nasal mucosa and causing bleeding. Pay attention to the color of urine, and female patients should pay attention to the amount and timing of menstruation. If you experience headache, dizziness, nausea, etc., you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

4. Daily care

Avoid spicy, irritating, overly cold, and overly hard foods. Especially avoid eating seafood. Eat light, easily digestible foods rich in vitamins. Your daily life should be regular, your emotions should be stable, you should engage in appropriate activities, and avoid fatigue. Avoid contact with harmful substances, radiation, and taking drugs that affect the bone marrow. When anemia and bleeding are severe, you should rest in bed, reduce activity, and seek hospitalization if necessary.
