What is parotid mixed tumor?

Many people may not have heard of parotid mixed tumor. Parotid mixed tumor is more common in middle-aged people. Generally, the early symptoms are not obvious. It has a certain incubation period and grows relatively slowly. Therefore, knowing more about the symptoms of this disease can do better prevention.

symptom:

Parotid mixed tumors are more common in young and middle-aged people. The tumor is located below the earlobe and, if large, extends toward the neck. The tumor is hard and nodular, sometimes part of it becomes cystic and there are softer nodules in between. The tumor has no adhesion to the skin or underlying tissue and can be pushed; it grows slowly and may not change for several years or more than ten years. If malignant transformation occurs, the tumor often grows suddenly and rapidly, and becomes fixed to the surrounding tissues. Late-stage malignant tumors may rupture, causing symptoms such as pain or facial nerve paralysis, and may metastasize to lymph nodes in the lateral neck area.

Parotid mixed tumors are more common in middle-aged people. Generally there are no obvious symptoms, the disease grows slowly, and the course of the disease can be several years or even decades. The tumor often appears as a firm mass in the subauricular area with a nodular surface, clear boundaries, medium hardness, no adhesion to surrounding tissues, mobility, and no tenderness. If a tumor shows any of the following conditions, the possibility of malignancy should be considered.

3. Pain or facial paralysis on the same side occurs.

prevention:

1. Reasonable diet: You can consume more high-fiber and fresh vegetables and fruits, and have a balanced nutrition, including essential nutrients such as protein, sugar, fat, vitamins, trace elements and dietary fiber. You can also combine meat and vegetables, diversify food varieties, and give full play to the complementary effect of nutrients between foods.

2. Maintain oral health and treat related diseases and inflammation in a timely manner. Oral inflammation and bacteria can cause long-term stimulation of the parotid gland and easily lead to disease.
