Pulmonary fibrosis must be properly cared for in daily life. Generally, most patients with pulmonary fibrosis are male. At this time, patients should be careful not to smoke, stay away from allergens, keep the daily living environment clean and hygienic, and prevent the occurrence of colds. Pulmonary fibrosis care 1. Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis refuse to smoke. Although there is no clear evidence that there is a direct relationship between smoking and pulmonary fibrosis, long-term smoking leads to a decline in lung function, induces the occurrence of various lung diseases, and may cause idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. 2. Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis should stay away from exogenous allergens, such as: birds, animals (pets or experimental breeders), wood processing, sugar processing, mushroom farming, exposure to moldy straw, spring pollen, agricultural pesticides, etc. 3. Ensure that patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis have enough rest time. Keep warm, avoid catching cold, and prevent various infections. Pay attention to climate changes, especially in winter and spring when the temperature changes dramatically. Add or remove clothes in time to avoid catching cold and worsening your condition. 4. Although the cause of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is still unclear, living environment is undoubtedly an important cause. The room in the home environment should be quiet, and the air should be fresh, moist and circulated. Avoid irritants with strong odors such as smoke, perfume, air fresheners, etc., and avoid inhaling too cold, too dry, or too humid air. 5. The rooms of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis should be cleaned regularly, but dry sweeping should be avoided to prevent dust from flying. It is not advisable to lay carpets, floor films, or place flowers or plants in the room. Bedding and pillows should not be filled with feathers or old cotton wool, which are prone to cause allergies, and they should be dried in the sun and washed frequently. 6. Don’t ignore wheezing, coughs and colds. Shortness of breath is one of the main symptoms of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which is mainly caused by hypoxia. Patients are prone to coughing, which is usually dry and without sputum in the early stages. This situation is easily ignored as being due to physical exhaustion after exercise. If progressive breathing difficulties and worsening of wheezing occur, seek medical attention promptly. |
