Treatment methods for post-herpetic syndrome 8 traditional Chinese medicine methods to help you recover

How to treat the sequelae caused by improper treatment of shingles has always been an important topic that troubles shingles patients. In fact, there are many ways to treat the sequelae of shingles. Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the main methods of treating the sequelae of shingles!

1. Systemic treatment

Antiviral drugs include acyclovir, cytarabine and adenosine, among which acyclovir is the most effective. Acyclovir can be absorbed by herpes-infected cells and form acyclovir triphosphate after phosphorylation in the cells.

This salt is a competitive inhibitor of guanine triphosphate, which is also a competitive inhibitor of DNA polymerase. It can terminate the extension of the viral DNA chain and has a strong inhibitory effect on the activity of the viral DNA polymerase, thereby blocking the replication of herpes virus DNA. Acyclovir does not readily enter normal cells.

Therefore, the inhibitory effect on normal cells is very small, approximately equal to 1/10 to 1/30 of the inhibitory effect on viruses. This mechanism shows that acyclovir is highly effective in treating herpes with few side effects, so it is the drug of choice for treating herpes.

Acyclovir is suitable for patients with generalized herpes zoster or severe cases such as pneumonia or encephalitis. The intravenous drip dose is 200-250 mg, added to 100 ml of rehydration solution and dripped in 1 hour, 2-3 times a day, for 3-7 consecutive days. The oral dose is 200 mg, 5 times a day.

Although adenosine and cytarabine are effective in antiviral treatment, they are expensive and have many side effects. Therefore, after the emergence of acyclovir, few people use these two drugs for treatment.

Patients with neuralgia can be given painkillers, such as aspirin, painkillers, etc. For patients with severe pain, oral prednisone 15-30 mg/d can be taken in the early stage. Gradually reduce the dosage after 1 week. Early administration of prednisone can eliminate inflammation of the nerve roots. The use of prednisone for herpetic neuralgia can reduce the fibrosis in the late stage of neuritis, thereby also alleviating pain. In addition, vitamin B1, vitamin B6 or interferon injection can also be used.

2. External application of Chinese medicine plaster

Postherpetic neuralgia is caused by viruses retained in the body that erode and damage the nerves. The occurrence of postherpetic neuralgia is related to the early diagnosis of herpes zoster and the failure to provide timely and correct treatment. Most patients are initially misdiagnosed with radiating pain from heart disease and cholecystitis attacks and receive treatment. During this period, the virus multiplies in the body, aggravating the damage to the nerves and causing pain that is difficult to cure.

Postherpetic neuralgia is one of the stubborn pains that is difficult to cure with modern medicine. I believe that the pain is caused by viruses retained in the body that erode and damage the nerves. As long as there are uneven purple-red scars left at the original site of herpes, the virus can be expelled from the body, the damaged nerves can be repaired and unblocked, and the pain can be eliminated.

Oral medication is mainly for removing toxins and reducing heat, while external application of plasters is mainly for unblocking and nourishing nerves. External application of plasters can improve local blood circulation and promote the unblocking of blocked nerves. Local administration is combined with internal administration to remove toxins and reduce heat, and internal and external application can treat both inside and outside, so that Qi and blood can flow smoothly, blood vessels can be unblocked, damaged nerves can be repaired and unblocked (pain means blockage, and no pain means no blockage), which can relieve pain and lead to recovery. Generally, patients can recover after 1-2 months of medication.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

1. Take 1 golden olive, peel it and take out its core. Grind it repeatedly in a large bowl filled with vinegar. When the juice turns into grayish yellow, use a sterile cotton ball dipped in the juice to apply it.

2. Take an appropriate amount of Fenugreek, dry it over low heat until it turns yellowish brown (not burnt), grind it into fine powder, mix it with egg white to make a paste, and apply it to the affected area.

3. Take 30-50 grams of Cimicifuga heracleifolia, decoct it into a thick juice, and apply it to the affected area with gauze dipped in the juice to keep the area moist. At the same time, avoid eating spicy and irritating foods such as ginger, garlic, chili, fish, and eggs.

4. Take an appropriate amount of fresh lobelia, wash it and mash it into a paste, apply it to the affected area, cover it with gauze and fix it. If the medicine is dry, moisten it with cold boiled water.

5. Take 20-100 grams of fresh Herba Angelicae Pubescentis, mash it and add vinegar to mix it into a paste, apply it to the affected area, then cut a clean plastic film into strips to cover the surface of the medicine and fix it with adhesive tape.

6. Take an appropriate amount of silkworm cocoons, put them in a pot and scorch them over low heat, grind them into fine powder, add an appropriate amount of sesame oil and mix well, and apply to the affected area with a feather.

7. Take 10 grams of blood charcoal, preferably natural coarse black one, light it to make it burn fully and turn red, grind it into fine powder, seal it with honey, store it in a colored bottle, add sesame oil to make it into a paste when using, apply it to the affected area without bandaging.

8. Take an appropriate amount of earthworms, dry them and grind them into powder, add appropriate amount of sesame oil and apply evenly to the affected area.
