Can tinea pedis be transmitted to others? Here are three things you need to know

Tinea pedis and tinea manuum are generally infectious skin diseases caused by pathogenic skin filamentous fungal infection. It will cause many inconveniences in life and work, and people are worried about infecting other people. So is tinea pedis contagious and how is it transmitted?

1. Direct contact: including shaking hands in social occasions, touching feet between couples, hugging and petting cats and dogs, scratching the affected area with your hands and then touching other parts of the skin, etc., can all lead to infection.

2. Indirect contact: For example, going to a public bath, wearing public slippers, bath towels, foot towels, or using foot basins in hotels and guesthouses can all lead to the spread of tinea pedis.

3. It often occurs between fingers, toes, palms and soles, and sometimes spreads to the backs of hands and feet. The symptoms of tinea pedis patients generally include dry skin, scaling, excessive keratinization, which leads to gradual thickening and cracking in winter. In addition, some parts of the body will have clustered or scattered blisters that are deep and difficult to break through. The itching gradually subsides and the blisters are naturally absorbed after a few days, with scaling on the surface. However, since it is a fungal disease, it is generally easy to relapse, causing a lot of trouble.
