Swollen and painful lower eyelids, it hurts when I blink

There is a saying that goes "You can't tolerate any sand in your eyes", which shows that eyes are very fragile. Eyes are a relatively delicate structure in the human body and are also an important organ. Many people experience eye pain. The eyes are so fragile that if even a little bit of bacteria enters the eyes, the eyes will itch, swell, or even hurt. Many people experience eye pain, so why do lower eyelids become swollen and painful, and it hurts when blinking? What is the solution?

Diseases related to eye pain:

Peripheral uveitis, primary retinal detachment, primary open-angle glaucoma, orbital pseudotumor, primary concomitant esotropia, penetrating eye injury, ultraviolet injury, fungal corneal ulcer, hyperopia, foreign body in the eye, etc.

Foreign body sensation (the feeling of having a foreign object in the eye) is due to irritation or trauma to the corneal or conjunctival epithelium (e.g., traumatic abrasion, foreign body, dry eye, corneal ulcer, keratitis).

Eye pain (deep, dull pain in or behind the eye) is most often caused by intraocular or orbital disorders (eg, uveitis, glaucoma, scleritis, endophthalmitis, orbital pseudotumor). Dry eyes can also cause eye pain.

The common types of poisoning eye symptoms and diagnosis are briefly described below:

1. Salicylic acid

⑴ Aspirin poisoning may cause eyelid edema, eyelid drug rash, subconjunctival hemorrhage, scattered translucent blisters on the cornea, transient pupil reaction disorders, retrobulbar neuritis of the optic nerve, and no abnormalities in the eye muscles and visual fields, but vision may change.

⑵Aminopyrine poisoning may cause binocular visual impairment, severe eye pain, red and swollen eyelids, difficulty closing the eyelids, and small red drug rashes on the skin. Conjunctival hyperemia, herpetic conjunctivitis. The cornea is infiltrated and turbid, and the corneal epithelium is detached in the form of bubbles. The pupil is dilated and optic nerve atrophy can be seen in the fundus.

2. Antibiotics

⑴ Sulfonamide poisoning may cause eyelid edema, conjunctival edema, mydriasis, iris and ciliary body edema, papilledema, optic neuritis, optic nerve atrophy, retinal edema, which is more obvious in the posterior pole, temporary refractive error, lateral rectus muscle paralysis, central scotoma, and reduced visual field.

⑵Streptomycin poisoning may cause eyelid edema, pupil constriction, extraocular muscle paralysis, central chorioretinitis, optic neuritis, and narrowing of the visual field. Ocular symptoms will improve after drug withdrawal.

⑶ Penicillin poisoning may cause eyelid edema, conjunctival congestion and edema, corneal surface infiltration and ulcers, retinal edema and retinal phlebitis in the fundus.

Mitigation methods

Eye Movements

The essence is to rotate the eyeballs, and the order is that when the head rotates from top to bottom, and then left to right, the eyeballs move along with it. Relax your eyes for 2 minutes every time you work for 1 hour, and rotating your eyes can greatly relieve computer eye fatigue.

Blink

After working for an hour, tilt your head back and blink frequently to keep the blood flowing. If your eyes are slightly swollen and painful, just blinking 2 to 3 times every hour can provide relief.

Steaming eyes

Make a cup of tea with boiling water. While it's still hot, put your hands around the cup, open your eyes wide and put your face on your hands. Let the aroma of the hot tea fill your eyes, alternating between the left and right eyes. The best type of tea is chrysanthemum and wolfberry tea, and avoid drinking drinks such as coffee.

Food Nutrition

A family diet consisting mainly of vegetables and fruits can help relieve eye pain and prevent long-term eye diseases.
