Insulin sensitivity can be increased for 16 hours after exercise. So the positive effects last not just for two hours, but for most of the day.

The theory that eating immediately after exercise will make you more likely to gain weight may not be entirely correct. On the contrary, eating after exercise is very likely not to be stored as fat.

So, since you have to eat anyway, it seems a reasonable strategy to save a larger portion for after exercise. Don't let yourself go hungry every time just because of that insignificant number on your weight.
