What are the precautions for cleaning range hoods

The range hood is a household appliance that we often see when cooking. This kind of appliance must be installed in every household, but many families often do not clean the range hood because they think that the range hood itself is to remove the fumes produced after cooking, so it does not need to be cleaned at all. This is actually completely wrong, because no matter what kind of appliance it is, it should be cleaned regularly after use.

1. First, cut off the power supply of the range hood to ensure personal safety.

2. Wipe the outer surface and mesh cover of the range hood with a soft cloth dipped in a small amount of warm water with neutral detergent. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth.

3. Disassembly and cleaning of the wheel and volute cavity:

(1) Unscrew the screws of the grille cover and grille, and remove the cover and grille.

(2) Then unscrew the fastening screws of the wind wheel and remove the wind wheel.

(3) Soak the removed parts in warm water with a neutral detergent, wash them with a soft cloth, and wipe them dry.

(4) Use a soft cloth with a small amount of warm water and neutral detergent to wipe the dirt inside the volute, then rinse with a soft cloth and wipe dry.

(5) Reassemble the above parts in the reverse order of disassembly.

(6) After installation, check whether the oil circuit of the equipment is smooth and whether the sealing ring on the volute can be sealed.

4. Things to note when cleaning the impeller and volute:

(1) When cleaning, water cannot enter the motor and electrical parts.

(2) When cleaning, do not pull the internal connecting wires forcefully, otherwise the connection points may loosen, causing the risk of electric shock.

(3) It is prohibited to use flammable solvents such as alcohol, banana oil, gasoline, etc. to clean the range hood to prevent fire accidents.

(4) When cleaning, wear rubber gloves to prevent injury from the sharp edges of metal parts.

(5) The removed parts should be handled with care to avoid deformation. Be especially careful when cleaning the impeller and do not touch or move the counterweight of the blades. Otherwise, the whole machine will vibrate and the noise will increase.

For those range hoods with filter covers, since the oil smoke has been filtered before entering the appliance, the internal structure does not need to be cleaned. You only need to clean the appliance casing and filter cover according to the cycle specified in the instructions.

5. Cleaning of filter screen:

(1) Unscrew the screws that secure the grille.

(2) Soak the removed filter cover in warm water with neutral detergent for 5-10 minutes.

(3) Use a soft plastic brush to clean the dirt in the filter pores, and then wipe it dry with a dry cloth.

(4) After installation, check whether the oil circuit of the equipment is smooth and whether the sealing ring on the volute can be sealed.

However, cleaning the range hood is completely different from cleaning other electrical appliances, because this type of appliance is more difficult to clean. Therefore, for your own personal safety, you must cut off all power supplies on the range hood before cleaning, and you cannot pull the internal wires, otherwise it will cause electric shock.
