Are plastic lunch boxes toxic?

As people in modern society are under increasing work pressure, many friends tend to be more perfunctory in their diet. They often use plastic lunch boxes to eat, which can save more time for work. But some friends have deep doubts about plastic lunch boxes. So are plastic lunch boxes toxic? In order to better help everyone solve this problem, I would like to invite friends to discuss it with me in the next period of time.

Microwave lunch boxes are usually made of two types of plastics: PP and PS. PP refers to polypropylene, which has excellent mechanical and thermal properties and is used in various performance laminates and packaging materials. PS is commonly known as hard glue. Ordinary hard glue is hard and brittle. When knocked, it makes a metallic "ding-dang" sound, which is crisp and commonly known as "sounding glue". It is non-toxic and odorless. This material can be used for packaging, and it is non-toxic, odorless and safe to use. Lunch boxes made of PP are softer, while lunch boxes made of PS are slightly harder, and there is no difference in other aspects.

These two materials are safe to heat in a microwave and will not release toxic substances. It should be noted that lunch boxes are generally marked with whether they are suitable for microwave use. The lids of some lunch boxes are not made of PP, so they cannot be heated in a microwave. When heating rice, it is best not to use the lid. If the plastic lunch box does not have the material marked on it and does not have words such as "microwave safe" or similar content, it cannot be heated in the microwave. Such lunch boxes may be of low quality and it is best not to put them in the microwave.

I believe that through the above discussion among all of us, our friends have a deeper understanding and cognition about whether plastic lunch boxes are toxic. Of course, I would like to remind everyone that plastic lunch boxes must contain some chemicals, which will promote the decomposition of the chemicals once heated, so this will have adverse effects on people's bodies, so everyone must reduce the use of plastic lunch boxes.
