What are the indicators of Helicobacter pylori

Helicobacter pylori infection is very harmful to the body, and Helicobacter pylori infection can often be clearly diagnosed through examination. After the examination, there are often two different indicators, negative or positive. The so-called negative means that the body is not infected with Helicobacter pylori. If it is positive, it means that the body is more likely to be infected with Helicobacter pylori. Below we will introduce the examination indicators and significance of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with specific examination methods.

If the breath test shows a negative result for Helicobacter pylori, it does not necessarily mean that there is no stomach cancer; and if the breath test shows a positive result for Helicobacter pylori, it is usually not stomach cancer either. In the outpatient clinic, I found two interesting phenomena: first, more and more people asked for Helicobacter pylori testing; second, more and more people with positive Helicobacter pylori test results asked for treatment. These two phenomena indicate that people are paying more and more attention to Helicobacter pylori, mainly due to concerns about gastric cancer.

Helicobacter pylori is a special bacterium that lives in the gastric mucosa. It has a spiral shape and is a microaerophilic bacterium. It is difficult to survive in the air or in an absolutely anaerobic environment. It mainly lives in the gastric mucosal tissue, and the gastric pits are the breeding ground for Helicobacter pylori. Medical research has found that Helicobacter pylori infection is an important risk factor for gastric cancer. Helicobacter pylori is also related to the occurrence of diseases such as gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcers, and gastric mucosa-associated lymphoma. In recent years, the medical community has also discovered different strains associated with different stomach diseases. Therefore, many people will have many questions and misunderstandings after finding out that they are positive for Helicobacter pylori through physical examinations.

It should be noted that Helicobacter pylori infection is actually quite common, and not everyone will become ill after being infected with this bacteria. However, we should also pay attention to the reality that patients with gastritis or gastric ulcers often have more or less Helicobacter pylori infection. Currently, the more effective method for treating this bacterial infection is triple therapy.
