What does cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease include?

Although the current living standards are constantly improving, it is still impossible to ensure that one's body is healthy. In daily life, there are more and more patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, especially for some elderly people who are more prone to this disease. However, people do not know much about this disease, so they cannot treat the disease well. So, what does cardiovascular disease include?

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases can be divided into cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases. Cardiovascular diseases are mainly coronary heart disease, which is caused by arteriosclerosis, while cerebrovascular diseases are mostly strokes, which are caused by cerebral hemorrhage.

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases have now become the number one killer endangering human health. Every year, more than 3 million people die from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in my country, and millions of people survive but are left with disabilities. What are the signs before cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases occur? How to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in daily life? Our reporter interviewed Wang Hongyun, director of the Department of Thoracic, Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Surgery at the Anning Branch of Lanzhou General Hospital of Lanzhou Military Region.

Temperature drops

High incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases

"As the temperature drops in autumn, the number of patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, cerebral thrombosis, and coronary heart disease admitted to hospitals increases significantly. The elderly and infirm, especially those with a history of the 'three highs', should actively take preventive measures to avoid getting sick," said Director Wang Hongyun.

The occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases follows certain time patterns, especially closely related to changes in temperature. It is now late autumn and the temperature difference between morning and evening is getting bigger. As the temperature drops, the number of people suffering from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is gradually increasing. This is because the temperature drops in autumn and winter, and the adrenaline level in the human body increases, which will increase the heart rate and blood pressure. At the same time, platelet aggregation is enhanced and blood viscosity increases, which can easily induce small blood vessel diseases. In addition, respiratory infections caused by colds can also lead to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. According to survey statistics, in autumn and winter, the proportion of patients suffering from cerebral thrombosis and coronary heart disease accounts for as high as 69.5% of the total number of patients throughout the year.

Preventing stroke

Keep your blood pressure under control

"Our hospital treats up to 500 stroke patients every year." Director Wang Hongyun told reporters that stroke, commonly known as cerebral infarction, is a sudden onset of cerebral blood circulation disorder. It refers to patients with cerebrovascular disease who suffer from acute cerebral blood circulation disorder caused by various inducing factors, such as stenosis, occlusion or rupture of the cerebral arteries. Stroke is divided into ischemic and hemorrhagic. Ischemic stroke is what we often call "cerebral infarction", and hemorrhagic stroke is commonly known as "burst blood vessel".

As for what the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems include, we have already learned about this question in detail from the above text. The elderly are prone to problems because of their declining physical fitness and immunity. Therefore, the elderly must pay attention to healthy eating and do some moderate exercise in their lives, so that they can better prevent the occurrence of certain diseases.
