What to do if you feel dizzy after taking a hot spring bath

Some friends may spend a long time in the hot spring, and the hot spring pool may be in a closed environment. In this case, it is easy for the body to suffer from hypoxia, which can lead to dizziness. In addition, a person may eat too much while taking a hot spring bath. In this case, a large amount of oxygen will be sent to the stomach to digest the food, causing dizziness. In fact, chest tightness, dizziness and thirst are quite common when taking a hot spring bath. Let’s see what to do if you feel dizzy while taking a hot spring bath.

Feeling dizzy while taking a hot spring bath is a sign of hypoglycemia. You can eat some sweets or candies before taking a hot spring bath, and continue to drink water while taking a hot spring bath. If you still feel dizzy, or have difficulty breathing or numbness in your hands, you can get up and rest, drink some water, and eat some sweets. When people feel tired, the most important thing is to have a good rest. If you take a hot spring bath immediately, it may increase the burden on your heart and lungs. Also, it is not advisable to take a hot spring bath within 1 hour after a full meal or drinking, or after lack of sleep or strenuous exercise.

Since the water temperature of hot springs is mostly between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than body temperature, the soaking time should not exceed 10 to 15 minutes and no more than 3 times a day to avoid increasing the burden on the heart. Moreover, when the temperature is below 30 degrees Celsius, the body can dissipate heat through convection, radiation and sweating. Once the temperature reaches above 36 degrees Celsius, the body can only dissipate heat through sweating. But when you are in the water, sweat cannot evaporate at all, which makes it difficult for body heat to dissipate. Soaking in the water for too long may lead to heatstroke.

It should be noted that some people are not suitable for hot springs. For example, people with skin allergies, pregnant women, or people with heart disease should not take hot springs. Also, people with high blood pressure or diabetes should avoid taking hot springs. Soaking in hot springs can promote the body's circulation and metabolism, but it will also increase the heart's oxygen consumption, until the heart is overloaded and can easily lead to heart failure.
