How to install dentures

Although dental problems are not serious diseases, they can cause us great pain. Sometimes, if we do not pay attention to oral hygiene, it can easily lead to toothache. Sometimes, in severe cases, the teeth need to be extracted. However, after the teeth are extracted, our chewing ability will be affected. We have to install dentures to resume our normal life. However, many people do not know much about the installation method of dentures, for fear that it will cause oral discomfort. Let's learn about how to install dentures.

How to install dentures?

1. Removable dentures: Removable dentures generally consist of two main parts: the dentures on the base and the elastic metal hooks, which will hook the remaining teeth to fix them in the mouth. Removable dentures can be taken out and used when needed and put away when not in use. Removable dentures are highly adaptable and can be chosen by most patients, whether they are missing just one or two teeth or all of their teeth.

2. Fixed dentures: The principle of fixed dentures is to fix the dentures at the position where the teeth have fallen out. First, the adjacent teeth on both sides of the dentures are adjusted and modified to serve as the abutment teeth for the fixed dentures. Then put a brace on it to connect the adjacent teeth on both sides, put on a fixed denture, and glue it with medicated glue to fix it on the adjacent teeth on both sides, just like a bridge. However, if you want to have fixed dentures, the natural teeth on both sides of the denture area must be intact, healthy, and of sufficient height and hardness. If the adjacent teeth are loose, irregularly arranged, etc., it is not suitable to install fixed dentures.

3. Implantation: Implantation is a surgery performed at the site where the tooth has fallen out. An artificial tooth root is implanted into the alveolar bone, and then a denture made according to the model of the fallen tooth is placed on this basis. Implants do not harm other teeth, are highly comfortable and simulated when used, are beautiful and natural, have almost the same functions as natural teeth, and have excellent occlusal function. The service life of planting is also relatively long and easy to maintain. Since implant surgery is non-destructive, it has been recognized by the oral medicine community as the preferred method of restoring missing teeth.

The above is an introduction to how to install dentures. After understanding it, we know that generally, to install dentures, we need to go to the hospital in person to make a model based on our missing teeth, and then install the dentures. This way, they can better fit our mouths and will not cause discomfort. However, when installing dentures, we must ensure good oral hygiene.
