Can a 40-day-old baby supplement calcium?

Can a 40-day-old baby supplement calcium?

Parents often encounter some problems in the process of raising their babies. For example, sometimes the baby will lose his temper for no reason, the baby's emotions are very unstable, he always cries, and he can't sleep well at night. They don't know the specific cause of the disease. When these symptoms appear, parents should consider that the baby is calcium deficient. The harm of calcium deficiency in babies is huge. Does a 40-day-old baby need calcium supplements?

Can a 40-day-old baby supplement calcium?

There is no need to supplement calcium for a 40-day-old baby unless a trace element test indicates calcium deficiency.

But vitamin D supplementation is a must. In fact, what is commonly referred to as calcium deficiency is caused by a lack of vitamin D.

Getting more sun is also a must.

Guidance:

If the child is breastfed, the mother must pay attention to calcium supplementation, and the child can also take appropriate calcium supplements.

If the child is fed with milk powder, there is no need for additional calcium supplementation as long as the child can drink 600 ml of milk powder a day.

If you need to supplement calcium, it is usually recommended to use calcium gluconate preparations. You don't have to care about the brand, because no matter what brand of calcium preparation, the absorption rate in the intestine is similar.

As for the child's cough, you need to ask the local pediatrician to listen to the stethoscope to rule out the possibility of tracheitis or pneumonia, and then determine what medicine is needed.

My baby is now forty days old. If he needs to supplement calcium, he should mainly take vitamin D orally, such as Icoxin or Fuwa, which are both effective.

Guidance:

Babies are growing rapidly now, but the vitamin D content in breast milk and formula is insufficient. If it is not supplemented in time, babies are prone to deficiency and have symptoms such as crying at night, waking up easily or sweating. Additional supplementation is needed. As for the cough, if it is mild, pay attention to keeping warm and observe it temporarily. It will gradually get better in a few days.

There is also the problem of absorption when supplementing calcium. No matter how much you take, it will be useless if it is not absorbed. At the same time, supplementing AD (cod liver oil) can help calcium absorption and prevent rickets. Getting more sun exposure will also help calcium absorption. Be sure to go outdoors and not through glass, because ultraviolet rays cannot penetrate glass. In addition, the imperfection of the infant's gastrointestinal system will also affect absorption.

It is recommended to supplement some beneficial intestinal bacteria while supplementing calcium, such as Mami Love, Biostime, etc. (don’t worry, beneficial bacteria are not medicine, the more the better). The imperfection of the gastrointestinal system is also the root cause of childhood eczema. Therefore, for most children’s diseases, improving the gastrointestinal tract is the key.

The most common calcium supplements are "Golden Cudgel L-Lactate Calcium Granules" and "Aier Calcium Granules". You can take cod liver oil in the form of "Beteling" or "Icoxin". I recommend "Ikoxin", which has a peanut oil fragrance and babies like it more, while "Beteling" has a fishy taste. You can take no more than one capsule of cod liver oil per day; taking more will cause poisoning.

There is another option, "Jiansheng Marine Calcium", which is divided into 0-1 years old and over 1 year old. It should be noted that this calcium powder already contains cod liver oil, so there is no need to add cod liver oil separately. Cod liver oil should not be consumed too much, as it will cause poisoning. It is highly soluble in water and easily absorbed. Secondly, it saves the cost of cod liver oil and is more economical.
