How to overcome mental illness

How to overcome mental illness

Today's society is constantly progressing, but even so, the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger and bigger. Because of this, many middle-level staff are facing more and more pressure. In the long run, some people develop mental illnesses due to poor psychological adjustment. And everyone knows that mental illness has a great impact on life and family. So some family members want to know how to overcome mental illness?

1. Focus your attention

Ask the patient to lie on a reclining chair, relax all muscles and close his eyes. The doctor placed a hand on his forehead and asked him to pay attention to a particular symptom and recall an experience related to that symptom.

2. Free Contact

Do not guide the patient's thoughts or limit the scope of his recollections. Tell the patient that he must follow a rule that requires him to immediately speak out any thoughts that come into his mind, no matter how absurd, meaningless, immoral, or even stupid or sinful he thinks these thoughts are. Don't be afraid that speaking out will make him feel ashamed, embarrassed, upset or sad, and don't worry about other people's criticism, ridicule and condemnation. Let the patient lie on a recliner, and the doctor sits behind the patient where he cannot see him, allowing him to express his thoughts freely without any hints or interference.

There are four main points for psychological counseling of patients:

(1) Tell him of his defeat. Point out the dangers of the disease, draw the patient's attention, and enable the patient to have a correct understanding and attitude towards the disease.

(2) Speak to them in a good way. It points out that patients should cooperate with doctors, seek timely treatment and increase their confidence in overcoming the disease.

(3) Guide them in the way that is convenient for them. Point out specific treatment measures and advise patients on how to recuperate.

(4) Open it up to its source of suffering. Point out the patient's negative psychological state and help the patient free himself from the pain of the disease. After liberation, my country's psychological medicine workers carried it forward, absorbed the results of contemporary scientific research at home and abroad, introduced the principles of cybernetics, belief theory, and systems theory, making counseling therapy a psychotherapy method that is deeply welcomed by psychologists and widely used in clinical practice.

Autotherapy method

During the treatment, the patient lies on the bed, closes his eyes, relaxes all muscles, calms his mood, concentrates his attention, and eliminates all distracting thoughts. Then recite silently in a certain order. The sentences to recite are: ① heavy and warm feeling in the hands; ② heavy and warm feeling in the chest; ③ heavy and warm feeling in the abdomen; ④ heavy and warm feeling in the feet; ⑤ heavy and warm feeling in the head. Repeat this many times.

When reciting silently, read the sentence slowly while imagining that the meaning of the sentence is actually fulfilled in you, and experience the heavy and warm feeling.

This method can be performed in the hospital or at home, at least once a day, generally 2 to 3 times, each time for 15 to 20 minutes, and 20 times as a course of treatment. 2 to 3 courses of treatment can be done, with a few days of rest in between.

This therapy will produce various "release reactions" of autonomic nervous functions during the training process, indicating that this therapy does have the effect of adjusting the human body's psychosomatic functions and autonomic nervous system functions. The so-called "release reaction" refers to the following symptoms that may occur during self-discipline training: body trembling, continuous forceful movements, involuntary movements, subtle tremors, vibrations, numbness, pain, electric shock, pressure, itching, burning, floating, falling, spinning, flying, dizziness and other sensory changes, as well as loneliness, tension, anxiety, depression, euphoria and other emotional changes. The reason is that energy abnormally accumulated in the brain is released by the patient after training. This release reaction can be seen as the effect of treatment, which can relieve the patient's mental depression and physical symptoms. However, some patients have very strong release reaction symptoms, which leads to obvious anxiety and fear that training will harm their bodies. At this time, training should be stopped.

The implementation of self-discipline training can enable people to further understand the important role of psychological factors in preventing and treating diseases, and understand the basic laws of the relationship between mind and body. It can also change the situation where certain diseases are treated simply by taking medicine or injections, prevent the occurrence of iatrogenic diseases, and give full play to the patient's subjective initiative to improve the efficacy.

The above article introduces several methods of treating mental illness. The best method is the help of family members and the patient's own psychotherapy. The same thing is that you should not care too much in life, and make sure to rest when you need to. During your break, you can go out and do some moderate exercise and talk to your friends about your concerns to adjust your mood.
