8 tips to help you improve your basal metabolism

Maybe you often complain about the unfairness of God: Why do I have to go on a diet and exercise painfully to hold down the weight that may rebound at any time? While some people never abstain from food or exercise but can easily have a good figure? It is very likely that there is something wrong with your basal metabolism. The so-called basal metabolism refers to the energy consumed by your body to maintain physiological characteristics such as breathing, heartbeat, and body temperature when you do nothing. Don't underestimate this part of energy. For ordinary people, it accounts for 60%-70% of your total energy consumption in a day. Compared with this part of energy, the energy you consume by puffing on the treadmill for half an hour is simply insignificant.

(1) Enjoy the Emperor’s Breakfast

The human body's metabolism is very slow at night. A hearty breakfast can quickly wake up the body and restore normal metabolism. A hearty breakfast should preferably include four types of food: slowly digestible carbohydrates (whole grains, potatoes), high-quality protein (eggs, milk or lean meat), vegetables and fruits, and a moderate amount of nuts. You can take the milk or nuts away and eat them at 10 am.

(2) Eat regularly, three meals a day and two snacks a day

Do not skip any meals in order to lose weight. If you are often in a fasting state with low blood sugar, your smart body will slowly slow down your metabolism, and over time you will develop a so-called obesity-prone physique. Therefore, it is recommended to eat three meals normally, and eat some nuts or fruits around 10 am and 4 pm to maintain stable blood sugar and normal metabolic rate.

(3) Ensure protein intake

When the human body lacks protein, not only will disfiguring facial features appear, but it will also affect the normal metabolic function of the liver. Once the metabolism of energy and nutrients is blocked, the basal metabolic rate will definitely decrease. Therefore, I do not recommend any dieting methods such as the fruit diet or not eating after noon.

(4) Drink plenty of water

The water here does not refer to sweet drinks such as coffee or milk tea, but specifically refers to healthy drinks such as boiled water, mineral water, and light tea. Because water is the carrier for transporting nutrients in the body and excreting metabolic waste, if the human body lacks water, metabolism will be hindered and basal metabolism will decrease.

(5) Enjoy deep sleep

Deep sleep is a great opportunity for human cells and organs to repair themselves. Especially if you don’t get enough sleep between 11pm and 3am, all organs in your body will be affected and your metabolic function will be weakened. Moreover, deep sleep is conducive to the secretion of growth hormone and can help improve metabolic levels.

(6) Pay attention to strength training and increase muscle proportion

Aerobic exercise mainly targets cardiopulmonary function, while strength training promotes muscle growth. After aerobic exercise, calorie consumption stops immediately, but the body continues to consume energy for 48 hours after strength training because muscle repair and growth require consumption.

(7) Use spicy seasonings such as pepper and chili

Eating these foods can stimulate the secretion of thyroid hormone, and adequate thyroid hormone is a necessary condition for improving basal metabolism. Many stubbornly obese people cannot lose weight no matter how hard they try. This is most likely caused by insufficient thyroid hormone secretion. Severe cases are called "hypothyroidism" and must be treated with medication.

(8) Enjoy the feeling of being in love

We often find that people who are in love have shiny and translucent skin, bright eyes, and are not prone to gain weight. This is because sex hormones are at work, and the secretion of sex hormones can also increase basal metabolism. Therefore, even if you are not in a relationship, you can still cultivate your own feelings of love, have a love affair with yourself that is not separated, and take good care of yourself. Isn't this a wonderful thing?

If you can do the above, I believe you will be much easier on the road to losing weight, and these things are really not difficult to do! Again: there is no shortcut to losing weight, but there are scientific methods!
