What are the symptoms of cervical bone spurs?

Cervical bone spurs, also known as cervical bone hyperplasia, are a very common disease among middle-aged and elderly people. Especially in the elderly stage, bone and joint degeneration will easily cause cervical bone spurs. Cervical bone spurs can cause symptoms of numbness and pain in the shoulders, neck, and limbs, and must be treated promptly.

1. Common symptoms

1. Common in middle-aged and older patients

2. Symptoms of cervical spondylosis: Neck and shoulder pain; kinetic energy disorders of the neck, especially limited extension and rotation functions, etc.

3. Symptoms of cervical spondylosis in the limbs: numbness in the arms and radiating pain in the wrists and fingers, and the range is consistent with the area controlled by the cervical spinal nerves; numbness, soreness, burning, pain in the limbs, "feeling of walking on cotton" when walking, unstable center of gravity, and easy to fall; increased limb muscle tone, weakened muscle strength, hyperreflexia of the tendon, weakened knee reflex, and the appearance of pathological reflexes.

4. Symptoms of cervical spondylosis in the head: dizziness, migraine, visual impairment, dysphonia, tinnitus, deafness, one side of the palpebral fissure is larger than the other, unequal pupil sizes, and sometimes blurred vision. Half of the face is dry, with less sweating, etc.

5. Other symptoms of cervical spondylosis: throat discomfort, foreign body sensation, difficulty swallowing, etc.

2. Causes

1: Degenerative changes of the cervical spine. As people age, the cervical spine and intervertebral discs may undergo different changes. As the cervical vertebrae undergo degenerative changes, the intervertebral discs also undergo corresponding changes.

2: Strain and bad posture. People who keep their head and neck in a single position for a long time, who like to lie in bed watching TV, reading, using high pillows, or sleeping in a sitting position, are prone to cervical bone hyperplasia. Common groups of people, such as accountants, writers, software developers, etc., who need to bow their heads for a long time. Students, due to heavy homework burden, improper sitting posture when reading and writing, long periods of air conditioning or uncontrolled computer operation, little exercise, and long-term low calcium intake, are prone to cervical bone spur hyperplasia.

3: Head and neck trauma. Some patients have cervical spinal canal in a critical state of stenosis due to cervical spondylosis, cervical disc herniation, and soft tissue lesions within the spinal canal. Neck trauma often induces symptoms.
