Is it suitable to exercise in late stage lung cancer

Is it suitable to exercise in late stage lung cancer

Although lung cancer is a very harmful disease, it is not untreatable. After treatment, lung cancer patients should also do appropriate exercise. Patients should not exercise casually. Patients should also exercise appropriately under the guidance of doctors.

Lung cancer patients can take up appropriate work and participate in social activities after treatment. However, the decision must be made based on the condition after a comprehensive and detailed examination by the doctor. If the patient is diagnosed as completely cured by the doctor and the functions of various organs are restored well, he or she can fully perform the original work. Patients who have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy often need a long time to recover due to adverse reactions of treatment such as gastrointestinal reactions and bone marrow suppression, and have a certain impact on lung function. Sometimes it is difficult to be competent for the previous workload. Especially for manual laborers, the workload must be appropriately reduced. For mental laborers, it generally does not affect future work, but they cannot be overloaded or stay up late, and they must combine work and rest.

During the treatment period of lung cancer patients, such as after surgery, radiotherapy and during the interval of chemotherapy, they should do appropriate physical exercise to restore physical strength as soon as possible, adjust the tired body, and increase the confidence to overcome the disease. Of course, it is not advisable to do too strenuous exercise, and the amount of activity should be gradually increased from small to large. In the cold and hot seasons, and the influenza season, you should strengthen your own protection to prevent infection.

After lung cancer patients are cured or during the treatment intervals, as long as their physical condition allows, they should try to participate in some social activities, such as cancer clubs or other public welfare activities and cultural and entertainment activities. Participating in social activities and increasing mutual communication can reduce the depression, loneliness and anxiety caused by the disease, restore their mental state faster and cooperate better with treatment.

Lung cancer is a type of malignant tumor, but it is not an incurable disease. If you can get timely treatment, the patient can effectively prolong his life. Therefore, patients with lung cancer should not lose hope of survival. It is most important to be optimistic and actively treat the disease.
