Does drinking beer make people fat?

Beer is a very popular alcoholic beverage. In our country, most people are willing to drink beer because the alcohol content of beer is relatively low, so drinking a little will not make you feel drunk. Compared to those spirits, beer is more easily accepted by people. Moreover, some experts say that drinking beer in moderation will not harm the body, but will be beneficial to it. So, does drinking beer make people fat?

Many people think that drinking beer will make you fat, but this is actually a misunderstanding. Beer does not contain many nutrients. It contains no vitamins and only very little protein and sugar. When people talk about the alcohol content of beer, they are referring to the original wort concentration (sugar content). For example, if the sugar content of the original wort is 12 degrees, after fermentation, the sugar is broken down by yeast and the final sugar content is only 0.2% or even lower.

In addition, 12-degree beer also contains about 4% alcohol and has lower total calories. Some people believe that the bitter taste of hops can promote the secretion of digestive juices, helping the body digest and absorb food, which in turn increases appetite and increases calorie intake.

People get fat. There is also a view that a bottle of beer contains about 1.3 mg of niacin (a component of vitamins), which can promote the burning of other nutrients, release energy, and as a result make people fat. Both of the above statements make sense, but beer itself has limited calories after all, and drinking three or two glasses will not make you fat.

However, binge drinking on a regular basis is another matter. Just think about it, after drinking seven or eight liters of beer, the gastrointestinal tract is overloaded. The accumulated alcohol causes the gastrointestinal blood vessels to constrict, making it impossible for the intestines to move. The gastrointestinal tract is like a capsule, it gets bigger and bigger, and finally becomes like a big ball in the stomach. If you "soak" in beer like this all day long, the contraction function of the gastrointestinal tract will be greatly weakened, and you will eventually develop a "beer belly", right? Moreover, the heat energy provided by so much beer is also very large. Every 100 grams of beer provides 40-50 kcal of heat energy, and 8 liters of beer can provide 1600 kcal of heat energy, which is basically equivalent to the calories required by a person with a height of 160 cm throughout the day. After drinking so much beer, you can't go without eating something all day. After eating, it means excessive calorie intake, and obesity will naturally appear in your body.

If you want to drink beer but don't want to gain weight, you have to drink it in moderation.

In short, it is recommended that you should drink some beer appropriately on a regular basis. This will not only prevent you from gaining weight, but also ensure your health. However, those who drink excessive beer should be careful. If you drink a lot of beer every day, your body will definitely gain weight. At the same time, it may also be affected by alcohol and cause problems for your body.
