What does phimosis mean

Phimosis actually occurs in most male friends, but many of them do not pay attention to this problem. Phimosis refers to a situation where the foreskin is too long and covers the glans of the penis. In severe cases, it may even hinder erection. In this case, surgical resection is necessary, otherwise it will have a great impact on the health of the penis.

The disease of phimosis is quite common nowadays, and it seriously affects the physical and mental health of men. The symptoms of this disease are classified and introduced in detail here. Phimosis can be divided into atrophic phimosis, hypertrophic phimosis, foreskin incarceration, physiological phimosis, true and false phimosis and other types. According to medical statistics, 85%-95% of penile cancer patients have a history of phimosis or redundant foreskin.

Among the various types of symptoms of phimosis, atrophic phimosis is more common. The patient's penis development is restricted, the penis is relatively short, and the glans penis is deformed, presenting a contracted, hard and tough structure. It has a very serious impact on men's sexual function and may also cause urination difficulties.

Among the symptoms of phimosis, what is hypertrophic phimosis? Hypertrophic phimosis refers to the patient's foreskin being too thick and long, leading to difficulty in urination, and the urine stream becoming thin and forked. When the patient urinates, the foreskin sac is first filled with urine, forming a ball shape, and then the urine is discharged. The disease can lead to urinary tract obstruction, upper urinary tract hydrops, renal function damage and other diseases.

Physiological phimosis is also the main type of manifestation of phimosis. This type of phimosis is mostly congenital. The disease is caused by mild adhesion between the inner surface of the foreskin and the surface of the glans of the newborn, which prevents the foreskin from being turned over to the coronal sulcus. Generally speaking, the symptom will disappear naturally within 2 to 3 years after birth as the epithelial adhesions are absorbed.

At present, the regular surgical treatment for foreskin is circumcision. This type of surgery is often relatively easy and convenient. The patient will not feel much pain. Moreover, for the patient himself, choosing such an operation will not affect his work and life, and it can be said that he can do it as he pleases. The treatment for phimosis is circumcision, which is also effective.

It can be seen that there are quite a lot of common symptoms of phimosis, which are introduced in detail in the article. I hope that after understanding these common symptoms, you can detect the existence of phimosis in the first place and get the correct treatment in time.
