What vitamin deficiency causes hair loss?

What vitamin deficiency causes hair loss?

Having a head of thick black hair is what I believe many people wish for. However, nowadays people are under great pressure in life, have irregular diets, and always stay up late, which causes a lot of hair loss. So many people buy products to treat hair loss. The main ingredient of some drugs for treating hair loss is vitamins, so many people think that hair loss is caused by a lack of vitamins. So, is this the reason for hair loss?

In fact, the research on what vitamins are lacking that cause hair loss is still very weak, and at present it is not possible to directly conclude that hair loss is caused by vitamin deficiency! There are many reasons for hair loss. Although hair loss is related to vitamin deficiency to a certain extent, we cannot simply conclude that hair loss is caused by a lack of certain vitamins!

You should know that there are many reasons for hair loss. Endocrine system dysfunction, high hormone levels, improper perming and dyeing, disease, some external forces, and even mental stress may all cause hair loss. Problems such as hair loss due to vitamin deficiency are actually a type of nutritional hair loss. So the question of what vitamin deficiency causes hair loss is actually very narrow!

Hair loss may be caused by any of the following reasons, not necessarily due to vitamin deficiency:

(1) Endocrine disorders. Experts point out that hair loss is related to the increase of male hormones in the human body. Other scholars have found that many patients with thyroid diseases also suffer from hair loss, and thus believe that hair loss is related to thyroid hormone.

(2) Mental and nervous disorders. Some young people suffer from hair loss due to a heavy blow, or long-term mental stress and depression.

(3) Heredity. 20% of patients with hair loss have a family history. In genetics, it is dominant in males and recessive in females, which is one of the reasons why more males than females suffer from hair loss.

(4) Immune dysfunction. Clinically, it is found that people with immune system disorders such as lupus erythematosus and ulcerative colitis are often accompanied by hair loss.

(5) Blood deficiency and kidney deficiency. According to traditional Chinese medicine, hair loss is caused by blood deficiency and kidney deficiency.

(6) Damaged hair. Foreign experts have pointed out through investigation that long-term use of hair dye may cause hair loss in 2 to 20 years. In addition, frequent use of hair dryers, fire tongs, and electric heaters for perming can also cause hair loss.

Although the conclusion that hair loss is caused by lack of certain vitamins is wrong, on the contrary, it does make sense that lack of certain vitamins can cause hair loss! The human body stores fat-soluble vitamins, so if you take in too much, they will accumulate in the body, especially in the liver, and there is a risk of poisoning. Water-soluble vitamins are excreted through the kidneys and are relatively safe, but they should not be consumed in excess because it is possible that excess vitamins will cause other biochemical reactions in the body. Normally, there is no problem of overdose if you take vitamins normally from food, but taking too many vitamin pills can be dangerous.

In addition, as for what vitamins are lacking that cause hair loss, it may also be caused by a deficiency of certain vitamins. A lack of vitamin A can cause hair loss; a lack of B vitamins and pantothenic acid can cause hair to become dry and lack of color. Deficiency of zinc and iron can cause hair loss; deficiency of copper can reduce the pigmentation of hair!

If you want to know whether your hair loss is due to a lack of vitamins, you can go to the hospital for a check-up. Preventing hair loss starts with daily hair care. If you have dry hair, you can wash your hair once a week. If you have oily hair, you can wash your hair once a week. It is recommended to wash it once every three days. Washing your hair too frequently is bad for your hair as it will remove the sebum that protects your hair.
