What are the treatment options for varicose veins

Sitting still for a long time can easily lead to cervical spondylosis. So, what kind of disease can easily lead to standing for a long time? The answer is varicose veins. Varicose veins look scary. There are no signs in the early stages of the disease. However, if the disease continues to develop, it will seriously affect the patient's normal life. But what are the treatment options for varicose veins?

Compression therapy for varicose veins: This treatment uses products such as compression stockings to apply external pressure to reduce swelling caused by exercise. Theoretically, the pressure of elastic stockings is greatest at the ankle and gradually decreases upwards. Thigh-high elastic stockings are usually best. It is best to wear elastic stockings in the early morning before getting up and take them off after going to bed at night.

Sclerotherapy for varicose veins: A hypertonic solution (such as highly concentrated saline or sclerotherapy) is injected into the varicose veins to destroy the vascular endothelium, causing it to heal and disappear. However, it can only treat small varicose blood vessels, and the treatment may cause severe pain, pigmentation, and even inflammation, redness, swelling, ulceration and other sequelae. It is also easy to relapse and difficult to deal with after relapse, so it is only suitable for a small number of patients.

Physical methods for treating varicose veins: Extravascular laser or pulsed light has the same principle as laser beauty for removing spots, but it only targets tiny spider veins. It is more expensive and requires several treatments to be effective.

Surgical treatment of varicose veins: an incision is made in the groin, the great saphenous vein is cut, ligated or extracted, partial or general anesthesia is required, and hospitalization for 2-3 days is required. If the varicose veins are too severe, several small incisions may be needed to remove the varicose veins section by section. The treatment is complete but has the disadvantages of subcutaneous bruising and more painful wounds.

Perhaps because varicose veins do not show any symptoms at the beginning, patients can easily ignore the onset of the disease and of course do not notice the severity of the disease. Fortunately, there are four treatment options for varicose veins. Patients do not need to worry about the disease being untreatable. They just need to cooperate with the doctor's treatment plan.
