We all know that having children is one of the more important things in a woman’s life. Many female friends also hope that their children can grow up healthily after giving birth. Therefore, many mothers breastfeed their babies, which keeps their babies healthy. However, mothers’ bodies are prone to problems, such as catching a cold and having a sore throat due to breastfeeding. This problem needs to be solved by a professional doctor because it involves the health of two people. So it cannot be ignored.

The presence of phlegm in the throat is mainly related to daily living habits and personal hygiene. If you smoke or drink, the phlegm in your throat may be caused by these habits.

First, "local skin or muscle soreness": This is mostly a warning sign of what Chinese medicine calls a cold, which is mainly caused by mothers sweating after being tired and then catching cold. In severe cases, there may also be headaches, fear of cold, nasal congestion with clear nasal discharge, or mild fever, coughing and spitting white sputum, etc. The key to treating this type of cold is to sweat a little to eliminate the cold in the body.

(1) Brown sugar, jujube and ginger soup: Pour clean water into a pot, then add approximately equal amounts of ginger slices and brown sugar as well as about ten jujubes and boil together. When the jujubes are cooked and the steam is full of ginger flavor, you can drink it while it is hot. When you feel a little sweaty, cover yourself with a blanket and take a nap, you will feel much more relaxed.

(2) Scallion, brown sugar and ginger soup: slice the ginger, wash and cut the scallion and onion roots into sections, add appropriate amount of brown sugar and boil with water. When the flavors of various ingredients are absorbed into the water, you can drink it while it is hot, then cover yourself with a quilt and have a good sleep. You will feel much better after sweating.

Second, when the throat is red, swollen and painful: mothers should prevent or consider wind-heat cold, which is mainly caused by constipation, getting angry, etc. Generally, wind-heat cold will also cause high fever, a little fear of cold, headache, cough, spitting sticky or yellow sputum, nasal congestion and yellow nasal discharge, dry tongue and thirst, etc. In terms of dietary conditioning, it helps relieve cold symptoms by clearing away heat and detoxifying, and promoting bowel movements and relieving internal heat.

(1) Pears stewed with rock sugar: Wash the pears, cut them into slices (no need to peel or core them), add a small amount of rock sugar, boil them in water, and drink the soup and eat the pears. This can relieve cough and nasal congestion caused by a cold.

(2) Honey and white radish juice: Wash the white radish without peeling it, cut it into small pieces and squeeze it into raw radish juice. Then add a small amount of honey and stir well before drinking. It can relieve discomfort such as sore throat.

The above contents are some solutions to the problem of sore throat caused by cold while breastfeeding. If you use medication for treatment, you should not breastfeed your child during this period.
