What should I do if I have esophageal inflammation?

Many people have various esophageal problems due to busy work and irregular diet. Some have problems with swallowing, some have food reflux, vomiting, etc. Some are serious and even have bleeding. Most people are caused by esophageal inflammation. Patients with esophageal inflammation should pay attention to it, especially young people nowadays. They don’t pay attention to eating and drinking, and like to drink ice drinks when it’s hot. This will cause a burden on the esophagus. Let’s take a look at what to do if you have esophageal inflammation.

1. Eating foods rich in collagen and elastin, such as pig's trotters, pig skin, tendons, fish, beans, seafood, etc., is beneficial to the repair of damaged areas caused by chronic pharyngitis.

2. Eat more foods rich in B vitamins, such as animal liver, lean meat, fish, fresh fruits, green vegetables, milk, beans, etc., which are beneficial to promote the repair of damaged pharynx and eliminate inflammation of the respiratory mucosa.

3. Eat less or no fried, spicy or irritating foods, such as: fried dough sticks, glutinous rice balls, fried cakes, chili peppers, garlic, pepper, etc.

4. Drink some therapeutic drinks that can relieve sore throat and promote salivation regularly. The following two examples are for reference: Green tea honey drink: 5 grams of green tea and an appropriate amount of honey. Place green tea in a cup, pour in boiling water, add honey and drink, 1 dose per day. It can clear away heat and relieve sore throat, moisten the lungs and produce body fluid. Lily and mung bean soup: 20 grams of lily, 50 grams of mung beans, and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Cook lily and mung bean with appropriate amount of water, add rock sugar and drink, 1 dose per day. It can clear away heat, moisten the lungs, nourish yin and produce body fluid.

Due to abnormal stimulation, the esophageal mucosa becomes edematous and congested, which is esophagitis. These stimuli include stomach acid, bile vomited up from the duodenum, strong liquor, chili peppers, too hot soup, too strong tea, etc.

Under normal circumstances, gastric acid will not reflux into the esophagus. There is a high-pressure area in the lower half of the esophagus that prevents gastric acid from refluxing into the esophagus. If the cardia becomes loose for some reason, the pressure in the high-pressure area will decrease or even disappear, and gastric acid and bile will reflux into the esophagus, causing severe irritation to the esophageal mucosa and causing esophagitis. Lying down after a meal, overeating, or eating too much sweets or greasy food can cause stomach contents to reflux into the esophagus.

Feeling "heartburn" or "heart pain", or having obvious pain behind the sternum when drinking hot water or eating spicy food are all symptoms of esophagitis. There is also a feeling of choking when swallowing food, which is caused by esophageal edema, narrowing of the esophagus, or spasmodic contraction of the esophageal wall due to inflammatory stimulation. Esophagitis should be diagnosed and treated promptly, otherwise it will worsen and lead to esophageal mucosal ulcers, vomiting blood or bloody stools.

The above is the introduction to esophageal inflammation that I would like to introduce to you here today. I hope that all patients have understood it in detail. Patients with esophageal inflammation must pay more attention to their diet in daily life. It is best to control the intake of irritating foods. Repeatedly doing this is not good for your body. I hope the above content will be helpful to everyone.
