Hyperlipidemia can be divided into different types. Type I hyperlipidemia is mainly caused by an increase in the concentration of chylomicrons in the plasma. Usually, symptoms of increased triglycerides and a slight increase in cholesterol levels will appear during testing, but this is relatively rare in clinical practice. (1) Type I hyperlipoproteinemia: mainly caused by increased concentration of chylomicrons in plasma. The plasma was placed in a 4°C refrigerator overnight. The top layer of the plasma was "creamy" and the lower layer was clear. Blood lipid measurements mainly show elevated triglycerides, with normal or slightly increased cholesterol levels. This type is relatively rare in clinical practice. (2) Type II hyperlipoproteinemia, which is further divided into type IIa and type IIb. ① Type IIa hyperlipoproteinemia: a simple increase in the LDL level in plasma. The plasma appears clear or slightly turbid. When measuring blood lipids, only the cholesterol level is elevated, while the triglyceride level is normal. This type is common in clinical practice. ② Type IIb hyperlipoproteinemia: Increased levels of VLDL and LDL in plasma. The plasma appears clear or slightly turbid. Blood lipid measurements showed increased cholesterol and triglycerides. This type of clinical is quite common. (3) Type III hyperlipoproteinemia: also known as abnormal β-lipoproteinemia, it is mainly characterized by increased levels of chylomicron remnants and VLDL remnants in the plasma. The plasma appears turbid, and a fuzzy "cream-like" top layer can often be seen. Plasma cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations increased significantly, and the degree of increase (in mg/dL) was roughly the same. This type is rare in clinical practice. (4) Type IV hyperlipoproteinemia: The plasma VLDL increases, and the plasma may be clear or turbid, depending on the degree of increase in plasma triglycerides. Generally, there is no "creamy" top layer, and the plasma triglycerides are significantly increased. The cholesterol level may be normal or high. (5) Type V hyperlipoproteinemia: The levels of chylomicrons and VLDL in the plasma are elevated. The plasma has a "creamy" top layer and a turbid lower layer. The plasma triglycerides and cholesterol are both elevated, with the triglycerides being the main increase. |
