What is esophageal tumor?

What is esophageal tumor?

Suffering from esophageal tumor will definitely affect your eating. The age of onset of esophageal cancer is mostly over 40 years old, and it is more common in males than in females. The symptoms of this disease are obvious. If you have dry throat, difficulty eating, or chest tightness, you may have esophageal cancer, and you need to pay close attention to it. And because the cause of the disease is complex, if you want to treat it thoroughly, you first need to understand its cause. Next, let’s take a closer look at what esophageal tumors are.

1. Eating too fast

Correction: Chew each meal slowly for 20 to 30 minutes

The esophagus is the passage for food to pass from the mouth to the stomach. The wall of the tube is an elastic tissue composed of the mucosal epithelium, submucosal epithelium and muscle layer. The innermost layer of the esophagus is the mucosal epithelium, which is thin and soft. It is in direct contact with food in the most frequent and close manner, and is therefore easily affected by various stimuli from food.

Eating too fast will result in the food not being fully chewed. Food with coarse particles and high temperature can easily damage the already fragile esophageal mucosal epithelium and cause acute inflammation. If a person has the habit of eating too fast, these acute inflammations are likely to become chronic inflammations, which may lead to esophageal cancer over time.

It is recommended to develop the good habit of chewing slowly. Chewing slowly does not mean the slower the better. The best time to chew slowly for each meal is about 20 to 30 minutes, which does not include the time for chatting and socializing during meals.

2. Sleeping on the right side for a long time

Correction: Pay attention to your sleeping posture

Studies have found that esophageal cancer is also related to sleep. In terms of the level of esophageal acidity, people who sleep on the right side have the highest level, while people who sleep on the left side have the lowest level. This is because sleeping on your side affects the position of your esophagus and stomach. When a person sleeps on the right side, the stomach is higher than the esophagus, and stomach acid can easily flow back into the esophagus.

This is less likely to happen when you sleep on your left side. Therefore, if you sleep on your right side every time, it will easily cause stomach acid to reflux into the esophagus. In severe cases, it will also cause symptoms such as sore throat, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. If this continues for a long time, there is a risk of inducing esophageal cancer.

3. Drink "hot tea"

Correction: Don’t drink tea that is too hot

Many people have the habit of drinking tea, especially in the southern region. Incorrect tea drinking habits can lead to esophageal cancer. Since the mucosa is irritated by tea, it causes damage and bleeding, and may also cause problems with cells and digestive problems. The reason why people at risk of esophageal cancer are advised not to drink tea is that clinical observations have found that many people have the habit of drinking the "first sip of tea" or "hot tea". When people drink it, it will cause congestion and damage the mucosa, thereby destroying the protective function of the mucosa.

4. Crazy weight loss

Correction: Eat enough fruits and vegetables

In pursuit of an ideal body shape, some women will take extreme weight loss methods, such as long-term consumption of single meal replacement foods, or long-term intake of very little food to lose weight. This may cause the body to lack various essential vitamins and trace elements, especially vitamin A, vitamin B, molybdenum and so on. The lack of these vitamins and trace elements will affect the normal division and metabolism of esophageal epithelial cells. If this state remains for a long time without change, there is a risk of esophageal cancer.

This article provides information about esophageal tumors. Many people do not pay much attention to this disease, which eventually leads to worsening of the condition. Of course, in addition to the correct treatment method, we also need to learn daily preventive measures, stay away from tobacco and alcohol, pay attention to oral hygiene, and eliminate infection factors, because if there is an infection, it can easily spread to the esophagus.
