What are the symptoms of epididymitis and seminal vesiculitis?

Epididymitis and seminal vesiculitis are the two most common diseases in men. Generally, when men suffer from these diseases, it will seriously affect the quality of their own sperm, and it also has a great impact on the male body. Pain often occurs, so it is necessary to understand the symptoms of these two diseases in time and treat them better. So, what are the symptoms of epididymitis and seminal vesiculitis?

Patients with acute epididymitis will suddenly develop a high fever, increased white blood cell count, swelling and pain in the affected scrotum, a feeling of heaviness, and referred pain in the lower abdomen and groin, which will be aggravated when standing or walking. The epididymis on the affected side is enlarged and has obvious tenderness. When the inflammation covers a large area, both the epididymis and testicles are swollen, and the boundary between the two is unclear, which is called epididymis-testicular inflammation. The spermatic cord on the affected side is thickened and tender. Generally speaking, acute symptoms will gradually subside after a week.

Chronic epididymitis is more common. Some patients become chronic because the acute phase cannot be completely cured, but most patients do not have a clear acute phase. The inflammation is mostly secondary to chronic prostatitis or injury. Patients often feel dull pain and a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum on the affected side. The pain often extends to the lower abdomen and ipsilateral groin, and may sometimes be accompanied by secondary hydrocele. During examination, the epididymis often becomes enlarged and hardened to varying degrees. There is mild tenderness and the vas deferens on the same side may be thickened.

1. Lower abdominal pain. Acute patients may experience lower abdominal pain involving the perineum and groin on both sides, mainly manifested as severe pain in the perineum and rectum. The pain worsens during bowel movements and may cause severe pain during sexual intercourse. Chronic patients experience dull pain in the suprapubic area and discomfort in the perineum, and the pain is particularly obvious during ejaculation. Some people may experience symptoms such as low libido, nocturnal emission, and premature ejaculation.

2. The patient's semen is pink or red or contains blood clots, and some patients may have blood in their urine. This phenomenon is more obvious when seminal vesiculitis is in the acute stage.

3. Patients may experience symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, pain, difficulty urinating, and a burning sensation in the urethra.

4. Patients may experience systemic symptoms such as chills and fever. When seminal vesiculitis is in the chronic stage, patients may also experience symptoms such as low libido, nocturnal emission, and premature ejaculation.

5. When patients with seminal vesiculitis undergo routine semen examination, it can be seen that their semen contains a large number of red blood cells and white blood cells, and their semen bacterial culture is positive; when patients with seminal vesiculitis undergo routine blood examination, it can be seen that the number of white blood cells in their blood has increased significantly.

The above is an introduction to the symptoms of seminal vesiculitis and epididymitis. Once any of the symptoms mentioned above appear, you should seek treatment in time and do not delay, otherwise it will have a great impact on future fertility. Because of the special structures of the seminal vesicles, it is difficult to completely treat the patient after inflammation occurs.
