What should we be alert to when melanoma is prevalent? If these 4 skin abnormalities occur, go to the hospital immediately

Melanoma usually refers to malignant melanoma, which is a highly malignant tumor. In recent years, the incidence and mortality of melanoma have been increasing. According to data, the average number of deaths caused by this disease worldwide is as high as hundreds of thousands each year, among which the melanoma rate in my country is lower than that in white people in Europe and the United States. Melanoma can occur in any age group, mainly in men aged 50 to 60. The symptoms of melanoma are relatively obvious. If it is not treated in time, the prognosis will be less than ideal.

What are the symptoms of melanoma?

1. Rough skin on the affected area

After melanoma appears on the skin, the surface will become somewhat rough, and occasionally there may be phosphorus-shaped or flaky flakes. Some patients may also have symptoms of bleeding and exudation on their skin. In addition, the skin of the affected area is higher than the normal skin surface and is jagged. If it is not treated in time, it will spread to the surrounding area.

2. Abnormal skin color

Most human skin is white, natural, or wheat-colored. When a malignant melanoma grows on the skin, the tumor will change. The color and shape of the periphery are different and unevenly distributed. In the early stages of the disease, the original melanin spots will increase rapidly, and the color will also turn into dark brown spots. Some patients' spots will also be mixed with white. Therefore, when these changes in the skin are found, it must be taken seriously and medical treatment is recommended if necessary. It should be noted that the skin color of some patients has not changed significantly, but it can still be seen to be different from the surrounding skin color.

3. Skin itching

Malignant melanoma can cause local itching on the skin, often accompanied by burning or tenderness. Obviously, this is not normal, and you should go to the hospital for relevant examinations and find out the cause in time. If it is confirmed to be melanoma, it can be better treated.

4. The tumor size increases

When the disease progresses to a certain stage, the tumor will continue to swell and expand into spots or nodules, or mushroom or cauliflower shapes. At the same time, the surface of the tumor is prone to rupture and bleeding, and there may be irregular pigment loss around it. As the tumor spreads, nearby lymph nodes may also swell, and even cause systemic symptoms, such as headaches, hemoptysis, bone pain, etc.

When melanoma occurs, the symptoms on the skin are very obvious and can be discovered with a little care. If the above symptoms appear in the body, you must seek medical attention in time, after all, the prognosis is not very good. However, if symptomatic treatment is given in time and the first surgical removal is in place, it can also prolong life. In addition to treatment, you should also pay attention to rest more in your life, avoid ultraviolet radiation as much as possible, and reduce irritation to the affected area.
