Burning sensation in esophagus and stomach

Burning sensation in esophagus and stomach

When our stomach and intestines feel a burning sensation, we are particularly prone to acid reflux, which can easily cause reflux esophagitis. If there is too much gastric acid in the stomach, the patient will feel a burning pain in the stomach, so we should take some medicine to neutralize stomach acid in time for treatment. We should also pay attention to not eating spicy food. So what should we do if there is a burning sensation in the esophagus and stomach?

This symptom does not rule out reflux esophagitis, which is an inflammatory lesion of the esophagus caused by the reflux of gastric and duodenal contents into the esophagus. Endoscopic manifestations include esophageal mucosal damage, esophageal erosion, and esophageal ulcers.

Reflux esophagitis can occur in people of any age. The incidence rate in adults increases with age. The middle-aged and elderly people who are obese, smoke, drink and have mental stress are the high-risk groups for reflux esophagitis. When the condition is serious, you should go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying the best time for treatment and causing unnecessary harm.

This situation is mostly considered to be chronic gastritis and esophagitis. Most people can get better after treatment. However, a small number of people will have repeated attacks due to improper diet, smoking and drinking, etc.

The following treatment methods can be adopted:

1. You can choose drugs that inhibit gastric acid, such as omeprazole, rabeprazole, etc., for a course of 4-6 weeks;

2. Gastrointestinal motility drugs such as metoclopramide and cisapride can be used;

3. It is best to go to the hospital for a gastroscopy or upper gastrointestinal tract barium meal examination to confirm the diagnosis, and then treat the cause.

Life care:

1. First of all, you must develop good eating habits. Eat three meals a day at regular times and in regular amounts. Do not overeat or eat before going to bed.

2. Eat more protein-rich foods, eat less irritating foods, and avoid tobacco, alcohol, raw and cold foods, etc., which may damage the stomach.

3. Adjust your work rhythm and ensure adequate sleep to relieve work pressure. Relax and keep a peaceful mind.
