Causes of fatty liver caused by obesity

Obesity and fatty liver can cause serious harm to the patient's physical health and liver, so many patients with obesity and fatty liver must pay attention to it to avoid serious damage to their liver. The following is a detailed introduction to the causes of obesity and fatty liver, so you can have a specific understanding and knowledge of the causes.

Cause: Overnutrition

The direct energy source for metabolism of human tissues, organs and cells is glucose, and the common point of nutrient metabolism is conversion into glucose. When the glucose content (i.e. blood sugar) in the human body exceeds the body's daily needs, the excess glucose is transferred to liver cells and skeletal muscle cells and converted into liver glycogen and muscle glycogen respectively (for use) and then broken down into glucose for energy when the body's blood sugar is low. When glycogen storage reaches its upper limit, excess glucose enters the liver cells and is converted into fat and stored in the liver cells. At the same time, the liver cells also actively mobilize fat and carry out gluconeogenesis to eliminate excess fat. Because excessive fat storage exceeds the clearance capacity of liver cells, fat accumulates in liver cells. Some fat is transferred to the subcutaneous tissue (such as the abdomen, chest, back, armpits and buttocks), causing obesity.

Diagnostic criteria for obesity:

The medical standards for diagnosing obesity commonly used are the Broca index and BMI index (body mass index, also known as body mass index). The Broca index formula is: male standard weight (kg) = height (cm) - 100, female standard weight (kg) = height (cm) - 105. Exceeding the standard weight by 15%~20% is obviously obese, and exceeding the standard weight by 20%~30% is excessively obese. The BMI index formula is: BMI (kg/m^2) = height (kg) / weight (m^2). The normal male standard weight is about 22kg/m^2, and the normal female standard weight is about 20kg/m^2. A BMI index of 25-29 kg/m^2 is considered overweight, and a BMI index greater than 30 kg/m^2 is considered obese. If your weight exceeds the standard weight by more than 100%, you are considered morbidly obese.

The above introduces in detail the causes of obesity and fatty liver. After understanding the causes, you must try to have a light diet structure in your daily diet, eat more vegetables and fruits, and don’t eat too much when eating. Only in this way can you lose weight as soon as possible and relieve your obesity and fatty liver as soon as possible.
